I wonder when think tanks, pundits, etc. will see that conservative governments have no interest in affordability for consumers because that would mean limiting profits for the privatized utilities. Higher prices lead to increased dividends for shareholders. That's the point.
Electricity prices in ON have already risen 29% this year, partly tied to nuclear spending. New report from @pembina.org warns that leaning on nat gas in the short term + new nuclear in the long term will lead to the province missing low-cost opportunities in renewables. @matinsarfraz.bsky.social

This is gonna be so funny.

There will be two kinds of divisions at Nvidia: ones that pretend they're using AI for everything but aren't and are therefore still putting out good work, and ones that are actually using AI for everything and are putting out garbage.

I will be the first to admit I couldn’t understand why anyone would oppose Assisted Dying… and then I became disabled and had it “offered” to me.

It’s not compassionate when there’s coercion.

It’s not dignified when it’s offered in lieu of care.

Listen to disabled people.

We have created a device that shall be integral to your life, to the point where it will be hard to function in society without one; we would prefer these devices to break annually and for you to purchase a new one at full price. If you don't, that's called hoarding. They're a thousand dollars each.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

Ethnic frauds stir up so many terrible feelings in Indigenous folks, and I don't think the general public really understands this.

The goal of the ongoing colonial project has been the erasure of Indigenous Peoples, meaning our identity and existence has been undermined from every direction.

Maybe I'm missing an important point, but the Ford gov's claim that "Landlords will lower rents if they can rent out more of their properties now that we've given them more power over tenants" feels like something you'd say if you'd never literally never heard of capitalism before in your life.

Elections Alberta seems ok with the recall reasons. I will canvass for the CIP about the CPP when that’s available.

Nobody can afford anything, and the average person is either underpaid or unemployed.

This is not sustainable and -will- collapse.

Two-tier means two systems: faster care for people who can pay, slower (and less accessible) care for those who can't.

Danielle Smith effectively switched Alberta to Two-Tier yesterday.
