Covid isn’t over. And each infection damages the brain. Especially the parts that manage empathy and decision making.
Once you know that it’s easy to see what is happening and it’s terrifying.

newsGP - How COVID-19 leaves its mark on the brain
Mounting research shows the disease can lead to an array of problems, including significant drops in IQ scores, writes Dr Ziyad Al-Aly.

I want to be writing and painting all day and then put a little tablet into a machine and pull out a whole roast dinner.

This is how I always try to look at it. My garden is a joy for me, but most of it is beauty. And even the food I grow, I can afford to replace from the supermarket.
The animals have no options. I’m grateful to have animals around.
(Also you can put those little gauze bags on rosebuds to protect)
Amazon screenshot showing small organza bags for sale. You can put these on individual rose buds to protect the buds from animals but you have to remove gem as the flower opens. Short term, but the buds are apparently yummy to lots of animals who aren’t so interested once the flower opens.

England is now experiencing a significant COVID wave, after 10 months of relative quiet.

"If someone says they are in bed with flu, it’s almost certainly COVID, given that the number of people admitted to hospital for COVID last week was 50 times higher than the number admitted for flu!"
The chart shows weekly hospital COVID admissions per 100,000 population in the UK from May 2023 to September 29, 2025, based on UKHSA data.

Autumn 2023 peak reached around 6 per 100k.

Winter JN.1 peak followed early 2024 (~5 per 100k).

Several 2024 peaks occurred mid-year before dropping.

A 10-month stretch of low, stable levels lasted through late 2024 to mid-2025.

A new Sept 2025 wave shows a sharp upward climb approaching prior peak levels.

Let’s face it, a rare politician even HAS principles!

“Responsible Wagering Australia”.

Bought to you by the people who gave you “Of Course I’ll Respect You In The Morning” and “I’ll Only Put It In A Little Bit”

The absolute gobsmacking hypocrisy of these deadshits.

“The impact of long Covid is causing disproportionate morbidity and disability in younger adults in their prime who provide much of the workforce, productivity and innovation in our society”

Maybe when it affects the almighty economy governments will take notice??

He obviously failed to understand that the “sports” club wasn’t ever actually about sport.
I loved the quote about it being “the only chance they get to relax”. The poor dears.
🤬🤬🤬
chrisjordanclark.bsky.social
Yes this quote was a beauty! We laughed. All the “unwritten rules” - you know, like claiming that living away from home allowance and not being absolutely mullered in parliament.
They do think we are incredibly gullible and enormously stupid. And they don’t mind showing their contempt either.

I read this as “early” rather than “eagerly” and I nodded along. Same, same.
Leave ‘em talking, I say.

@wendyharmer.bsky.social is too modest.
This deserves a screenshot (and another Happy Birthday to an Australian legend)
Screenshot of text “Melbourne comedian-turned-Sydney-radio-commentator Wendy_Harmer - who turns 70 this week - was the hottest woman in FM radio.
Harmer and the radio breakfast show The Morning Crew, with Paul Holmes and Peter Moon, dominated the FM airwaves on 2DAYFM for a decade from 1993.
With her wit, wisdom and take-no-prisoners approach - not to mention her contagious laugh - Harmer helped pioneer the FM radio space bringing women listeners to radio and women broadcasters to prominence.”
And a photo of an attractive white woman with dark hair.

Just had a 111km/hr gust. And I don’t think we have it the worst.
But it’s pretty scary.

They know damn well that if they worked from home they’d do nothing but nap all day so they assume everyone is like them.
And everyone knows women’s work isn’t REAL work. So women, working some ‘pretend’ admin job FROM HOME are an easy target.
They think no one will care & they might be right. 🤬🤬
chrisjordanclark.bsky.social
Oh they’ll love that!
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Honestly, I barely know who she is but I find it astonishing that so many (allegedly) adult people care.
Was music like this when I was young? I know teenagers were always obsessed but I don’t think the adults were talking about it.
(What would I know tho?)

You know what fans hate?
Their idol being openly and unashamedly happy. Boy do they hate that shit.

Covid-19 has caused a breakdown in human rationality. Most people have embraced a mentality of delusion, carelessly denying the extreme danger of Covid-19 and recklessly surrendering to repeated infections. As a result, irreparable harm is steadily destroying their essential well-being.

I first read this line when I was 14. I was in an unhappy family and knew plenty of others. They all looked the same to me. Violent, abusive (or absent) father, woman and children struggling to survive.
I still wonder if happy families are all alike. I suspect not.
