Post a meme made by you.
“Same energy.” A meme comparing Lois Lane ogling a shirtless Superman to Hilary Flammond measuring Nigel’s penis in Top Secret!

All I want is Splice. Action figures, posters, bubblegum cards, everything!
Someone’s copy of Wonder Man #4 introducing Splice, an editor turned supervillain.

Wouldn’t that be Wes Craven’s?

Top Shelf Friday time 🎉

What's a comic in your collection that you think deserves to be on that top shelf? Whether it’s a key, rare, or just one you love❤️

Batman #190. Loved the cover when I saw it at St. Mark’s Comics in New York in the 1990s. Had to buy it.

#TopShelfFriday #comicbooks #comics
Batman 190, cover by Infantino and Giella, showing Penguin riding an umbrella with a gun downward, firing at Batman who blocks the shot with a Bat-shield. Robin is next thin being bathed in gas by another umbrella. Other umbrellas have saw blades or a flail.

Tell me your bagel order and I will tell you *based on NYC cultural expectations* if you have won or lost your election for political office in NYC.

One of my favorite things about NYC is whenever anyone runs for office here they are required to disclose their bagel order.

10/10 Curse of the Crimson Altar, 1968

Karloff’s last British film. Strange and a bit trippy story, with a lot of scantily clad people and a small bit of nudity. The characters are sometimes erratic, but Karloff, Michael Gough, and Christopher Lee are always entertaining.

Well, this went well. Eff sports. Eff life.

They should make a movie about him like they did with the other two.

10/9 Tales of Terror, 1962

Vincent Price stars in three stories based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe. Peter Lorre is wonderfully comedic and creepy in the second tale, and Basil Rathbone plays a conniving hypnotist in the third. Fun and not too terrifying. Many odd optical effects.

Plus a new 100 Bullets series??? I thought I was about to cease buying comics. Guess not.

Finished The Consuming Fire by John Scalzi. I look forward to listening to part 3.

After a break for some music I've gathered but not yet heard, my next audiobook will be Murder at the Mayfair Hotel by C.J. Archer. I'm a sucker for a period mystery, it would seem.

For LA area folks who like Ozzy and/or scary mazes. This is from a friend of a friend. I’m not a part of it.

Excerpt:
"Tell me what to do. Give me a sign." She was out of her element. Catholicism had plenty of ritual and ceremony in its liturgy, but Ursula hadn't cast her own magical spell before. Blowing out birthday candles and making a wish somehow didn't seem equivalent.
Were all magic spells witchcraft? She had so many questions.

10/8 It! The Terror from Beyond Space, 1958

One of the rare times that I wouldn’t mind if the story had started earlier or if there was a prequel. A pretty standard sci-fi/monster movie, dated but all right otherwise. Some unintended humor on the way.
