As a 10+ year accessibility professional, I want to tell people to stop using so many pictures in their presentations. Stop using a bunch of b-roll footage in your videos. Everything you include in anything should be evaluated for purpose, and if you can't find a purpose, don't include it.
alt text isn't just a good thing to do for potential readers; it's also a useful practice for you the writer, helping you think through "why am i using this image, what's in it and what's germane about it" on a regular basis
Using alt text is a way to be kind that you can start doing right now.

I’m sorry but this lie is so transparent and easily dismissed as nonsense. A person “approached” ICE with a gun, and then was tackled to the ground before any shots were fired, only to then be summarily executed? If he was going to use that gun, it would have been used. It’s insane to say otherwise.

I have bought so many $2 ebooks off of @bookshop.org knowing full well I won’t get to them in years. But they’re mine, they’re in my library, and I can read them anywhere and anytime I want.

Can’t imagine being a sitting US Senator or Representative and not being in the halls of Congress right this second shouting about how imperative it is to remove this man from the presidency right now in order to salvage any semblance of congressional power in this country.
