What's a really minor thing that makes you irrationally grouchy? Mine is cooking videos where the person is wearing long sleeves and/or has long hair that's not tied back. Your sleeve is touching the onions while you chop them! Your hair in the soup! No one cooks like this! Chaos.

Hey there Vancouver and area friends ... please join us on October 18 when we celebrate the launch of this labour of love, Beyond Blue. FB event page/rsvp here: www.facebook.com/share/1DPMLM...

I'm convinced that they don't really want to move detainees out to mass deportation. They want the free labour (aka slavery). These are absolutely going to be work camps. Buying up bankrupt farms will just cut out the middle man :(

I can not wait to see this book in person. The story I wrote for this anthology was both painful and cathartic to write. Thank you so much @christinamyers.bsky.social and Oga Nwobosi for selecting my story for Beyond Blue! And thank you @caitlinpress.bsky.social

There are a few very exciting milestones in bringing an anthology to life: when the submissions start rolling in, when you get to to tell the contributors their work has been accepted, etc. But the one that makes it feel really really real? Cover reveal day 💙 @caitlinpress.bsky.social

Thinking once again that 2025 was a bad year to read Parable of the Sower for the first time.

Ha, similar thought process here several times this week - one dinner was just a dagwood sandwich from the deli and a huge bowl of fresh strawberries. I start to do a lot of fruit and raw veggies when it gets hot like this.

No dyson fan here but my husband bought the hair dryer several years ago for me out of the blue, and I was horrified by the price point - but it has been magical and worth every single penny. Not sure how useful THAT is but certainly they make good stuff.

AMAZING ... so excited to see this and could not imagine better people to make it happen.

For author @christinamyers.bsky.social, being a mother is a constant cycle of remembering and forgetting—the best days, the loudest giggles, the tightest hugs, as well as the regretful days she wishes she could redo with more patience and love. thewalrus.ca/how-do-you-know-...

My friend and co-editor Oga Nwobosi and I have been quietly working away on this over the last year: 26 essays from writers across Canada on their experiences in perinatal mental health/PPD-A. Arriving this autumn and pre-orders now open.

At least once a month, without any prompting and for no reason at all, just driving along in the car or something, I think about this cover. It was a bold choice, even for the era lol

Huge loss. I worked for the Burnaby Now and New West Record for ten-plus years, the largest chunk of my reporting career. It was good dedicated people. I don't think people understand what's lost when community news closes - the combined historical knowledge of those newsrooms cannot be replaced.

Oh I wish I wasn't working, I'd love to do this ... I'll watch for a future session!!
