Super Bowl viewers Sunday speculated that 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos appeared in the halftime show. In fact, he has been in hiding with his family.

“He can’t sleep well at night. He wakes up three or four times a night screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy,’” Liam's father Adrian Conejo Arias, said.

It can be a hard pill to swallow but you have to accept that while you will prevail in this struggle, you may not be there to witness it.
Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win

the hard part about war is that there are casualties. look around you. there is no scenario where there aren't more casualties. there is no plan where there aren't more casualties.

we have to win.

How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.
Observers have been working day and night to protect these neighborhoods from ICE, make the streets safe so kids can go to school and people can go to their jobs. Burning down the street undoes all our work. The people setting fires haven’t been putting in long hours watching plates or doors.

leftists love to throw "nonviolence won't protect you!!" at liberals. but they misunderstand. nonviolence isn't about protecting yourself. nonviolence doesn't mean nonconfrontational.

nonviolence. is. about. winning.

It is a horrible thing but one of the *points* of non-violence is that state violence in response causes outrage to spread.

anyone who tells you that you have to watch it wants to observe you suffering and has no other reason for doing it
Remember you don't have to watch the videos. You are allowed to just trust honest people who describe what happens.

Two federal raids today in the same case. Lake Street in Minneapolis gets an armored vehicle assault. Bloomington gets the stereotypical agents in FBI windbreakers.

I would laugh so hard if the anti-tariff TikToks are what break the camel's back and get Trump to actually ban TikTok
it actually is a bad idea to allow a foreign power with whom we have at best a frenemy relationship a direct pipe into our national braindrip but, look, I’m not getting my policy preferences on anything here, let me enjoy this

The easy way out of this was in November. The way out of this now is years of grinding struggle. Lock in.
democracy in michigan and wisconsin was crushed to the point of near-irreversibility until 2020 -- vastly worse than what trump seems likely to be able to do before 2028 -- and we fought back, inch by inch, until we took it back, despite Republicans having both structural advantages and real support
I have no respect for any of these people that just doom post all day when the exact path to turning back the clock on democratic backsliding can be seen in Michigan and Wisconsin. But they don't want to deal in factuals, only hyperbolic hypotheticals
