An easy way to explain luddites:
Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

One of the differences I've noticed between Twitter and Bsky is that while follower growth, number of comments, and views (since the conversion rate of people clicking on links is pretty good) are similar or even better, people "like" 👍❤️ much less here. I'd say four times less.
