I always felt that was the kind of profoundly cynical move he did to try and capture some Heath Ledger magic - to appropriate some of that legend for himself. I'm not convinced he was doing it in order to be full method at all, especially having seen his performance (lol).

I think it'll be a lot like Trump - not focused or competent enough to pass much effective legislation, but very much able to be a wrecking ball towards policies and institutions that will take a generation to rebuild - and entirely able and eager to enact persecution on random immigrants.
