Reading Slaughter House 5 next for the book club. It seems short but I also have zero interest after reading the description.

Gentle reminder that disabled and marginalized people can’t “just leave” to escape fascism.

Many are too sick to go anywhere.

Other countries won’t accept disabled people.

Leaving is not the solution.

People are scared. Leave no one behind.

This is so important because A) she did it in response to Benedict Wong, a far more prominent actor, saying he's listening to the audiobooks a lot and B) did it unprompted, she specifically stopped the fluff interview to draw the comparison to the themes of their film and support trans people.
You’ve got to love how actress Kelly Marie Tran, one of the most harassed people ever to be on the internet, still leapt up to defend trans people in a recent interview. No one would blame her for keeping her head down and shutting up forever but she will NOT and I admire her for it ⭐

I wish my Surface Studio wasn’t bricked. It sucks you can’t even buy bits and pieces. Every time I boot it up it tells me to move to Windows 11 but it’s not even compatible. Planned obsolescence is one of the worst parts of capitalism

If you're resistance, if you're opposing something much larger than you - your biggest resource is morale. Celebrate your wins no matter how small, because they are proof, because Gods don't bleed, because every small win underlines that the struggle might be there tomorrow, but it is not forever.
I don't keep doomers in my feed but since apparently some folks do: "celebrate each and every win, loudly" is Organizing 101

I've been hearing this refrain lately about AI-

"Everyone uses it, some people are just honest about it."

Bullshit. I can't stop search 'summaries' popping up, but otherwise it's not something I use or want in my writing process.

Never prompted ChatGPT.
Never spent AI credits on Microsoft/Adobe.

In case you didn't know - since I saw the second season was out on Netflix. Watching Rurouni Kenshin is putting money in the hands of a man that had so much CP on his computer he was suspected to distributor.

He's not in prison. (Anymore.)

He collects royalities.

So don't.

Nearly half of the databases that the CDC used to update regularly — surveillance systems that tracked public health information like Covid vaccination rates and hospitalizations for respiratory syncytial virus — have been paused without explanation, according to new research.
Dozens of CDC databases are not being updated — most related to vaccines, study finds
The agency plays a key role in tracking the disease spread and vaccination rates. Last year, it seemed to back away from some of that work, according to new research.

We had to put up with school shootings because "the 2nd Amendment"
But watch ICE eliminate the right to bear arms by executing anyone they find with a gun and to hell with the 2nd Amendment.
ICE will soon be killing citizens in their own homes because they're scared there might be a gun inside.
