Maybe you're a normal Democratic liberal. Ask yourself: Does the party inspire you? Do you think it's been effective at fighting the dire situation we're in? Do you feel represented in the party? Are you bothered that anyone can be a Democrat, and there are no democratic processes inside the party?

I should be participating in the politics of joy but I've been captivated by the Cuomo party live feed. Hypnotic schadenfreude. Mind-blowing playlist.

RIP Peter Watkins. His whole filmography was an incisive stab to the gut. If you've never seen his work, I recommend starting with Punishment Park, an eternally troubling look at the swings of authoritarianism in motion. It's a masterpiece.

Jake Tapper is a stain on journalism
Wow.

Democratic Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury absolutely destroys Jake Tapper — who tries to advance a debunked Republican talking point about Trump cutting off SNAP.

Listening to the Prefab Sprout ep of @junkfilterpod.bsky.social. I start making connections to bands like Talk Talk that I am more immersed in and hear spiritual kinship.

I get why TechCrunch would write it this way, but I largely disagree with this framing. The broad conversation here is about power, respect, control and whether the voices of the vulnerable are taken seriously. This is the story of a leader and a team showing that they don’t get that.

Mountains of evidence that Ted Cruz is an awful person and derelict politician, and both are undergirded by his self-loathing.
for one, Macarena is Spanish–not Mexican–something you'd think a Cancun enthusiast like Ted Cruz would know
Ted Cruz just posted a video montage with photos of every Democratic senator altered to make them wear sombreros and mustaches. It’s set to the song Macarena.

What the fuck are we doing here?

Yes, it’s a weird theory. But no more weird than the president posting an AI video of himself promising to give Americans a magic bed that could regenerate limbs.

Q: how much is acetaminophen vs. better diagnosis?

RFK Jr jumps in to answer, says it's a 'canard' that has been completely debunked, it's just common sense because you(he) don't see autism in people older than 50!

(autistic people over 50, stand up!)

I feel like the day you learn you can't unilaterally overrule the First Amendment via getting your ass kicked by Jimmy Kimmel might be a bad day to announce you've discovered one weird trick to undo millennia of medical science. I feel like you might not be projecting the strength you think you are.

The treason against the United States? The defense of slavery? All the losing? I bet it’s the losing.”

I'm going to let A.R. take the lead here for articulating what I have been holding back.
Just garbage people with garbage minds, nothing but a self-loving goo ball of fears and bigotry and pride in their own ignorance about everything, pride in their own ever-expanding capacity for cruelty and hate.

Reminder that The republicans do not plan on being voted out of power. They have spent decades attempting to get this far they will not be stopped by voting. They are out in the open building the systems needed to never lose power and hold elections and have been for 40 years.
