I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for in a politician but not having every day be a nightmare of horrors would be pretty high up so someone should run on that

Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.

Go nuts!

Every year in December I listen to “This Year” by the Mountain Goats when I feel like I might in fact survive said year. It says a lot about my
2025 that I only just now tried it at 12 PM my time on December 31st.

Deep pan, crisp and even.

Sometimes my partner hilariously forgets who he married: he actually googled Heated Rivalry because someone mentioned it at work instead of just asking me about it. (I’m not normally a sports romance fan but it’s in the queue since my book club is reading it in 2026).

I’ll be reading Rebecca Taussig’s We Are The Scrappy Ones today. Alice’s appearances in children’s lit were so powerful for me and for my parenting.
What a privilege it is to be a younger disabled person in a community shaped by Alice Wong. Rest in peace, Alice.

Aaron Sorkin is a Jeopardy! Category tonight so I just said “shoe money tonight!” to the TV. As one does.

Doing anything with customer service in 2025 feels like the 30 Rock episode with Tracy Jordan looking at the flowchart and discovering the Sheinhardt Wig company owns NBC and also has North Korean subsidiaries. Defeating the Chatbot to get to the phone number is basically an extreme sport.

The Democratic Party is out there trying to pick the perfect candidate like they look up the perfect coffee-maker on wirecutter. If they have this doodad and that price point, they’re a winner.

That’s not how politics works. It’s a game we play together, not catalogue shopping.

Special education isn't a "nice thing to have." It isn't "charity" or doing something to make us feel better. It is a right. The right to a Free Appropriate Public Education is codified in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, signed by a Republican president.
