I'm seeing people wonder why ICE is going after Charlotte.

ICE has been at war with Charlotte's sheriff ever since he won in 2018.

We'd covered this at Bolts back in the day; this quote is from that sheriff:
“When the 8 African American sheriffs took over the largest counties in North Carolina, it became a threat to the good ol’ boy system,” says the sheriff of Charlotte. These new sheriffs broke ties with ICE.

But GOP lawmakers cracked down this week, overbidding the governor’s veto to adopt this law:
North Carolina GOP Is Cracking Down on the Black Sheriffs Who Stood Up to ICE
Boosted by new supermajorities, Republicans are closing in on legislation to mandate more collaboration with ICE and preempt local policies hard-won by immigrants’ rights advocates.

Would you like to see a BANANAS sitcom premise? Behold "My Living Doll," a jaw-dropping one-season flop that left us with two completely wild cultural impacts: 🧵

Classic TV Theme: My Living Doll
From the producers of 'My Favorite Martian' came a series that was far less successful. Ratings were lackluster, reviews were worse, and Bob Cummings and the producers didn't see eye to eye. Cummings…

Found out from the housing department that the LAHD will perform their third inspection in the 14th. As of today the landlords have communicated no plans to fix the unit. (They’re obligated to give me a 24hr advance notice, so they still might.)
If y'all have been following my harasser situation on here, y'all know I have been dealing with not only the violent aggressor, but also unhelpful landlords and police. I got the great news that I can move, and I've been waiting for the Housing Department to approve the location which they finally

I'm spending the week packing, but I'll be popping back on here to ask y'all to please support me with next week's move. Ready to put this nightmare behind me and navigating all this legal and bureaucratic bull has been so much to handle. Any amount is helpful, and so is sharing!

Lots of hard, shitty lessons being learned from this presidency. And one of the many I hope you're learning is, white supremacy is incompatible with reality, and cannot exist without historical revisionism.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

did, but now the amount of money I need to have by my move in date has jumped significantly. If you have $5, $10, $50 to spare, it would make a huge difference for me (and my cats). Between legal and moving expenses, my budget is shot all the way through. If you can contribute, that's amazing, and

No it’s important to listen to this. Because then you understand that many of them will do ANYTHING to keep power. Remember Musk got involved in the 2024 election after saying to Tucker “if she wins” I am definitely going to prison.

So we need to move knowing that nothing is off the table for them.
Steve Bannon: If we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison, myself included.
