I'm here to report that the federal layoffs have hit me personally. My 25-yr-old great niece worked for the Library of Congress. She's been laid off. Not furloughed, laid off. As in fired.

She lives less than a mile from me, & we are very close. I'm not a happy camper tonight.

CDC. Dozens of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:
I regret to inform you that you are being affected by a reduction in force (RIF) action. Please find attached a notice memorandum explaining the RIF and next steps. This RIF action does not reflect directly on your service, performance, or conduct. It is being taken solely for the reasons stated in the memorandum.
After you receive this notice, you will be placed on administrative leave and will no longer have building access beginning Friday, October 10, unless directed otherwise by your leadership. Layoffs have begun at the departments of Interior, DHS, Treasury, Education, Energy, HUD and HHS, as well as the EPA.

Spokespeople for several of these have confirmed, but declined to enumerate how many employees were affected, referring comment to OMB.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

They have to have a backup plan to the "dangerous immigrants" narrative. They have one. They've literally created a "terrorist group" out of thin air. I mean, you can't be having free and fair elections with "enemies from within," like the "Antifa Terrorist" group running around. It's a pretext.

For the record, mockery is a perfectly effective form of resistance against ICE.

They want us to be violent so they can put pictures on Facebook and justify a forceful response with their base. They can't do that with an inflatable unicorn costume.

Federal agents aren’t trying to keep the peace. They want violence to escalate so that Trump can declare martial law.
