Every day I'm so exhausted by this government of TV personality idiots who don't know how to do their jobs or even what their jobs are
NEW: Dr. Oz is quite literally telling his federal employees to eat less.

“You don't have to try every cookie on the holiday table,” wrote Mehmet Oz in an email to all Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services employees.

Turns out lots of UBC’s land endowment in Vancouver is funded by companies that enable Israeli apartheid and Palestinian murder in Gaza. Help let the president of UBC know.

The original article this article is leeching off of and voiding of context for ragebait points.

It's a nothing statement, Aardman isn't switching to ai. The kind of "ai" here is the same automation stuff we've had for years, but renamed ai to attract investors.

Just goes to show you that no one man is right about everything.
I say this as a huge fan of (most of) Quentin Tarantino's movies: if you agree with him on absolutely EVERY single opinion on movies he's ever had, there might be something wrong with you.

The man criticized Groundhog Day for giving Bill Murray a character arc ffs.

This is very true, and it's why I think one of the most naive possible things anyone could say right now is "even when he finally dies, it won't change anything."

Him finally being gone forever will change EVERYTHING. How could it not?
the reason why those "the left made me do ___" things ring so hollow is that Trump has been, since 2015, the primary actor in US politics. everything, in some shape or form, has been a reaction to his assault on the sanctity of the US constitutional order
2020-2021 was a particularly bad time but as long as Trump kept upping the ante the polarization was going to happen anyway

Note to publishers/online booksellers/etc.: If your online preview of a work doesn't make it through the introduction, you may be doing it wrong.

It is rare that the introduction is the part we want to sample.

Nothing opened my eyes to the full scope of the Holocaust's horror and human toll like this book. Absolutely everyone should read it.
Maus - Art Spiegelman

uncompromising in its depiction of the holocaust, but also of its central subject. vladek spiegelman is nowhere near a perfect victim, but no-one deserves this. stories like this, they are more important than ever. this is the history that fascists want erased. don't let it.

The original White House--like the Capitol--was deliberately NOT garish. They were supposed to reflect republican governance: not monarchies, not aristocracies. They were supposed to show a commitment to We the People.

The current decorations are the precise opposite.

There are some really great one-liners in 80s action movies, but it's a rare case where we get a set-up, a callback, a payoff, AND a coda.

There's better thrift stores there, some of them even from religious groups, that don't actively fund anti-LGBTQIA+ lobbying, and I focus there.

Tonight, we did something everyone counted out. We proved to a nation that states like Tennessee are still worth fighting for. The margin was close, and that can only be attributed to the thousands of volunteers who showed out. This is just the beginning.
