When I was 23, I saw a bunch of really cute velvet furniture on the side of the road, totally nice. Took it in and a year later a friend’s new gf came to my house and it turns out I’d stolen her entire living room while she was moving.

Evergreen advice, I say in 100% seriousness that the best course is often to just ignore anyone On Here who you haven't already clocked as a good-faith actor.

One "problem" with more authentic interaction on Bsky vs X is that you're more likely to read the replies, and they let ANYONE post here

(BTW, the only reason I found this thread was bc I came to Nathan's page to see if he'd done any recent commentary on what Spurs' tactical goals seem to be at the moment, because I can't figure it out myself!)

He was asked a direct question about why the most die-hard supporters lustily booed him away at Brentford (the ones who managed to stay awake anyway)

The *only* way you can answer that question and get out alive is some version of "It's, uh, because they're so passionate and we all want the best"

Like, Iraq wasn't THAT long ago, why is everyone still doing the government stenography thing on Day 1? We bombed a capital city and kidnapped a sitting head of state dawg
wild to see every news outlet use the term "capture" to describe what happened. we're not at war with venezuela! this is *objectively* an illegal kidnapping of a sovereign country's leader

"I've known u for 10 seconds and enjoyed none of them" is an S-tier line. Instant knockout

At some point, the refusal to punish bad actors becomes a CHOICE. What dirt does Humdinger have on Ryder or the incompetent Mayor Goodway??
December 28, 2025 at 7:25 PM
The Paw Patrol's refusal to arrest and try Mayor Humdinger for his crimes after years of bad-faith aggressions laid the foundations for Donald Trump's reelection. In this essay, I will-

All right I'm done now, have fun and I'm glad the chroma console rips! And also thanks for, you know, doing the kind of tech journalism that has accounts like Theophite putting you on their personal shortlist of reporters we can trust to tell us what color the sky is

There's a funny demo vid where Robert Keeley says, "I thought this would be an easy concept to execute, then it took 3 years and half the company to solve."

The unsung hero on that board is the Rewind delay from Alexander. Imo there's no other delay *that* size that can do what the Rewind does

If you are really into dirt/fuzz, the Octa Psi from Keeley is an S-tier pedal. 3 great fuzz modes, and the octave channel is unreal-- good enough to use by itself, and it can do the Whammy pedal trick w/momentary latching. Lives up to the hype

Orange is great! They had a few odd years initially when they got into entry-level solid state amps, but what they put out now at every price point is pretty good. I love playing through a Rockerverb whenever I can, but not enough to commit to the weight of owning one!
December 28, 2025 at 2:30 AM
100% agree. I picked up a Spark 2 amp and a Control X footswitch new for like $350 total a few months back when there was a sale, and I play through the Spark more than my "real" amp, even woth pedals. It is CRAZY value for the price

Small as heck too, just sits on top of a file cabinet here

LOL good luck! Always a fun feeling when a pedal turns out to be good enough to get some velcro on the back, then comes the recabling.

I think I've accumulated 25+ Ernie Ball flat ribbon patch cables of varying length for the 12 or 13 pedals on the board currently

Where do you put it in your chain? This is literally the next pedal on my list, thinking of putting it after my noise gate (which immediately follows my drive section) so that the tremolo & other amplitude effects dont make the gate open/close/open/close when active
