Check my math…

The Man Who Laughs’ damage-caused-smile inspired comic Joker.

Burton homages the inspiration with bullet wound damage causing the smile.

Nolan doubles the homage with a scarred faced Joker.

Reeves triples the homage with a scarred faced Joker.

Now all we have is scarred Jokers!

I think drawing someone with folded arms can be tricky, but just actually folding arms can be tricky. It’s not really very natural. These guys look like they are doing a pose they’ve only read about.

It's like the fashy "good times/weak men" bullshit except very real:
Tiny coffins produce vaccine uptake
Vaccine uptake produces immune kids
Population immunity creates vaccine skeptics
Vaccine skeptics make dead kids.
It's easy to be concerned about vaccines when you stop being concerned about viruses. You can only stop being concerned about viruses in a world with vaccines.

Bluesky was literally meant to be a cryptobro social network for grifters, LinkedIn sludge, and libertarians who know way too much about age of consent laws.

Jack Dorsey *left* when instead of weird and off-putting cryptonerds, trans people started hanging out here.
Can you think of examples where people use technologies differently from what the developers intended, whether unintentionally or as an act of resistance?

Sometimes you can get type cast in comics and Jeremy is well known for his YA work. But he’s got more to say and has assembled a team of experts to deliver some action, horror, punchy action!!!
Working in IP stuff can be fun. Working on my own YA and kids aimed books is often a great time, but friends I love horror, I love dark fantasy, I love stories about heroines who screw up, take punches, keep going and survive against all odds. That's what these books are about zoop.gg/c/slay

There’s an old Miller Daredevil with a big fight scene with civilians that has someone in one panel saying “Sh- -,” and someone or same person in the next panel saying, “- -tt!”

Anyone remember what issue this was?

“She worked, on the novel-writing machines in the Fiction Department. Her work consisted chiefly in running and servicing a powerful but tricky electric motor. She ‘didn't much care for reading,’ she said. Books were just a commodity that had to be produced, like jam or bootlaces.”

How many times, in how many contexts, in how many ways am I going to have to say that this is what "AI" does— what it fundamentally *is*— before it sinks in? That all Bullshit engines do is statistically correlate training data & inputs via their weights to produce outputs you are likely to accept…

There’s an 80’s movie where champagne spills on a computer causing the computer to accidentally gain sentience.

At the time it was universally understood as silly nonsense.

Now there are serious articles about software just accidentally gaining a sense of self.

Insane.
