"But Charlie!" you may say, "why should *I* care about the Tanzania People's Defence Force!?" Well let me tell you a few cool things about them!

1. Following independence most African states just inherited whatever colonial troops existed as their militaries. This often led to coups and mutinies.
Whooooo! Although I know other folks have already gotten it, my author copies finally arrived. It's been a long road and it still feels unreal to actually have the physical copies in hand!

Also, pre-LTNs and pre-Covid (2017-2019) there were 66 reported injuries per year on and inside the Iffley-Plain-Cowley-BTR-CCR triangle. Post LTNs this has reduced to 46 reported injuries per year (a 30% reduction).

I FOI'd English councils whether they use legal land purchase powers to create traffic-free paths. Just 1% said they have successfully.

Why is something that's so common for roads almost never done for cycle routes? And what does it mean for cycling?

This is why the redevelopment of the railway station has to provide a proper bus interchange.
Day 2 of the 3/3A buses serving Oxford station, and there are now DEFINITELY too many buses here.

There isn't room on their bus stop, so they fill up everywhere else instead. 🙄

Cllr Saj Malik (IOA, Cowley) asks for School Streets at Church Cowley St James, and St Christopher School on Temple Road. Cllr Gant says the former is already part of an LTN but he’s happy to arrange a further meeting for St Christopher: “We are committed to safety around the school gate.”
