Let me get this straight, we've built a venue that serves alcohol to 80,000 people, surrounded it with a moat of deadly asphalt, and made walking back to your hotel illegal?

The mandate from the citizens of Limerick was clear. The mandate John Moran got from the citizens of Limerick for his mayoral programme was clear. The councillors have no mandate to frustrate the mayoral programme or undermine the office of mayor. www.rte.ie/news/regiona...
Moran accuses cllrs of strategically undermining term
Limerick's directly elected Mayor John Moran has launched a scathing attack on a number of councillors, accusing them of a deliberate strategy to ensure his term as mayor is not successful.

Which would be least bad? That he knows he’s bulshitting but doesn’t care or that he doesn’t know this is bulshit.

Rev. Jesse Jackson has died at 84.

No social media post could do justice to such a large and consequential life.

His 1988 speech to the Democratic National Convention is easily one of the most remarkable — and personal — political addresses you’ll ever hear.

Sesame Street was a great force for good. We didn’t even realise. Rest in power Jesse Jackson.
Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop

And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below 🥹)

RIP to the Voice of the Voiceless

She is supposed to be the intellectual of the institute. I think it’s fairly obvious in this quote that she never practised law. Something that could be written but never operate in the world in practice.
Maria Steen, she of the Holy Handbag, argues in the Times that we should introduce a form of marriage with "no possibility of divorce." Maybe she is too young to remember that we already tried this. It ended very badly for some - that's why we introduced divorce.

I know he’s unstable and idiotic but Musk’s “argument” fails on almost every element. Leaving aside the obvious racism and white nationalism, the first sentence that a nation requires a common culture to survive is wrong - even before getting to the metrics for common, culture, and survive. 1/
We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

Maria Steen was on RTÉ Radio 1, the country’s most listened to radio station, this morning lamenting the lack of conservative voices in our national media.

She then read from an article by Brenda Power, published in the most widely read national newspaper.

Make it make sense!
