Comedy Playhouse is a strand that simply wouldn’t exist now. But its existence - like other outlets denied to working writers where you can sell a single story rather than pitch a five season multi million quid piece of event television- would help make a career as a (comedy) writer feasible.

My uncle is now so transphobe-pilled that he thinks Brendan O'Carroll is trans.

What I ADORE about The Smiths singles/LP artwork is that it's a mix of filtered stills of cult actors, political imagery or British pop culture icons.

Which means (without the need for AI), it's easy and fun to make your own.

Turns out people are just fine with singular "they" when it's a way to avoid using someone's actual pronouns.
This article really goes out of its way to be transphobic. Sophia Brooks is a girl.

Graham Lineham is now a convicted criminal after taken and destroying a child’s phone because she was taking photographs of him in a public place. He is a nasty bigot who has been attack the child on social media. It has been deemed not “harassment”.

"Activist" is being purposely used by Sky News here to obscure the fact that Linehan had a violent outburst with a teenager.

Someone bring back Laserlight Video Classics on blu Ray and get JLC. @willsloanesq.bsky.social @declouxj.bsky.social
Well, that was an eventful interview with Jamie Lee Curtis on This Morning, calling Borderlands and Fierce Creatures awful, going emotional over Diana, and dropping an f-bomb on live TV when asked about I'm A Celebrity.

Want to feel old? The age of the crew of the Nostromo in Alien, in 1979, ranged from 23 (Kane) to 26 (Lambert), in the year 2122. In 1979.

Holy fuck, just remembered in Father Ted - Tentacles of Doom, Dougal is excited about the Director's Cut of Aliens.
Remember what the director's cut shows - that Lambert was a trans femme.
Poor Graham. He probably thinks she was force-femmed and raised female against her will.

Okay. I've just finished reading Richard Marson's Box of Delights: The Story of BBC Children's Television, and I really can't recommend it enough. A celebration of, and elegy for, an incredible epoch in which dedicated vocational programme-makers were given the freedom to innovate and experiment.

y'know, I wonder if anyone else has gone through a moment of gender dysphoria, and then came out affirmed that they are, indeed, cisgender?

it's a wild thing to go through for even a small amount of time, but it's definitely an enlightening thing.

#RIP Udo Kier. One of those utterly unique actors who turned the act of ageing itself into a work of art.

We would love to get in touch with star of 'The Brothers', Malcolm Stoddard?

Does anybody out there know Malcolm? Or is able to connect us with him? Please get in touch if you can help. Many thanks.

Also, Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated is genuinely one of the best shows of the Peak TV era. It retains all the fun elements of old school Scooby-Doo, fleshes out the gang in ways that are both poignant and hilarious, and it creatively draws from grown up horror texts like Buffy and The Fog.

Was recording a podcast episode and left to hear about Udo Kier. This one hurts. There are so many movies you can watch to celebrate his life, but I would really recommend watching Swan Song. He's really fantastic in it.

Nooooooooooo!!!
Udo Kier - cinema’s fallen angel and an embodiment of the screen’s delicious power to corrupt - is gone. "I would live like the hero of Huysman's A Rebours,” he once told me. “Have no clocks, and hire two nuns to go by my window and pray at 12 o'clock each day."

I know it's wrong—and frankly, she looks fantastic—but thin Meghan Trainor just feels like a betrayal. Every time I see that Arm & Hammer laundry sheets commercial now I'm like, "traitor."

The poor woman doesn't deserve that! All she did was lose weight. I'm sure she's happier & healthier. 😆
