Pinning this for anything Trump does over the next four years.
Jonathan Turley will have an op-ed by the end of the day claiming this is actually what the Constitution demands.
Going from NATO to whatever this is makes me feel like Lucille Bluth did when she got downgraded to a *pool* membership.
Trump's "Board of Peace": Belarus, Morocco, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Armenia, Egypt, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Albania, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Qatar, Indonesia.

(5c) If you can afford it, now is the time to buy a very cheap smartphone on an inexpensive data plan and only go out with that. That way you don't lose an expensive phone and all the photos of your kids when ICE dumps it. Or worse, give them lots of your personal data.

God forbid the Democrats have a leader who actually leads.
NEWS: While Hakeem Jeffries has announced he's opposing the DHS/ICE funding bill tomorrow, his team is not whipping the vote. Several frontliners are expected to vote yes. There's a difference in leadership between personal vote decisions & unifying the caucus.

Jeffries Won’t Whip Vote Against ICE Funding - The American Prospect
While the House Democratic leader announced personal opposition to a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security, he won’t pressure his colleagues to do the same.

Dante needs to come back and invent new levels of Hell for these scum.
Minnesota: "School officials say the [5-year-old] child was used as bait. They say [ICE] agents made little Liam knock on the door to ask to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home."

A handful of Republicans growing a conscience (or a spine) could end this at any time. I don't think we should ever let them off the hook for enabling these horrors.

An underrated, but extremely cool nonetheless, aspect of living in America is how we got rid of actual pensions and instead made everyone’s retirement savings dependent on the economic & geopolitical whims of a mad king.

What fucking right does NATO have to ‘give’ Greenland to the US?

Whether patrolling Fallujah or Minneapolis, the threats are exactly the same and it’s smart to make sure you wear your blood type on your vest. 🙄

When Trump dies we get Vance. Thiel’s pet.

They'll blame a lot of stuff on Trump AND try to fast-track an even uglier white supremacist techno-Christofascism.

We must prept for this now & organize accordingly.
Grassroots activism, coalitions. Dissent. Sand in gears. Strikes.

I can't tell you how many times in my old job I warned that a change in technology would not result in a change in productivity because the technology was implemented not in response to identifying a business problem and finding a well-matched solution but because some guy wanted it.
"More than half of CEOs report seeing neither increased revenue nor decreased costs from AI, despite massive investments in the technology, according to a PwC survey of 4,454 business leaders."
Majority of CEOs report zero payoff from AI splurge

the U.S. politics and polling punditry press simply acts as if propaganda doesn't exist when discussing electoral voting habits. This country's entire information system is an open sewer, agitprop saturates everything, informed consensus is under assault -- yet this just doesn't get a mention.

At this point I don’t know which is worse: three more years of his shit or having to deal with President J.D. Vance.

This dynamic is basically unchanged in the decades I've followed US politics. The right raises a bullshit bad-faith objection, Dems try to change policy to address it, the right just repeats the bad-faith objection, Dems try again ... forever.
So in the end, what does this article amount to? Republicans are telling the same lie about welfare that they've told for 40 years despite consistent efforts — including many led by Democrats — to restrict and police it.

And in response, Democrats should restrict and police it even more.
