One year ago our adorable Savannah joined Merrymac! She came from a home in Virginia where she was very loved, but they were not set up to care for her any longer and she needed to be with other cows. We’re so grateful to @farmsanctuary.bsky.social network who coordinated her trip to us. ❤️

& I should add, because I should have made it clearer: historic preservation also matters. A lot. I have so much respect for all the folks who work to ensure that historic sites, around the country & of every type, help us engage with our past in the present.

So again, fuck this fascist fool.
One of the (many) tragic ironies of American history is that, due to the use of enslaved laborers, white supremacy built the White House. So perhaps it's appropriate that white supremacy is demolishing it as well.

But at the same time, collective symbols matter. A lot. So fuck this fascist fool. 🗃️

This is gone now. The East Wing lobby two years ago.
This is what it used to look like inside the lobby area.

So, someone shared this with me. There are a series of pseudonymous essays from 2023 in the Claremont Institute that they think were authored by Russ Vought.

Any ideas how to verify this?

"It’s hard to fathom how bad this is." @gregsargent.bsky.social gifts us a line for any Trump occasion. Today, it's the $230 million from taxpayers that Trump plans to pocket as compensation for federal actions against him. Like the DOJ Russia and documents investigations! Which found YUGE PROBLEMS!
Trump is transforming the presidency into what might be called a Bribe Delivery System. He's creating new avenues for law firms, universities, media companies, and more to pay him off. To MAGA, this is a positive.

I mean no, not according to the law he couldn't. According to the law he would have to get congressional permission and several review boards would have to sign off and congress would have to allocate the money.

The problem isn't the law, it's that we are now living in a lawless state.
As a matter of current law, could the president just…knock down the entire White House? Just raze the whole thing to the ground?

There is no difference between Trump destroying the East Wing and using a wrecking ball on the Washington Monument or Smithsonian. Just because he (temporarily) lives there doesn't give him the right to demolish the White House without Congressional approval.

If you think Trump’s done attacking abortion, think again.

He’s got a nationwide ban in his back pocket — and Prop 50 is the only thing stopping him. #YesOnProp50

Not to exploit attention economy guy's comments, but this White House attack REALLY IS a visual that is flooring people, including dopes like Byron York.

And it'd be useful to think of all the ways to use it as an organizing/messaging platform, PARTICULARLY bc of timing, "Let them eat ballroom."
