Today, ICE engaged in a dangerous, high-speed chase in Saint Paul. Their recklessness and disdain for the safety of our residents led directly to a multi-car collision, even if ICE vehicles weren't the ones to hit other cars.

and, I can’t believe I have to say that: queer kids need online community, because they are far more likely to be isolated, get bullied and harassed in real life, so isolating them even more is -not protecting them-.
this is also -the point of age verification-.
"Don't worry about the Discord thing, it's only NSFW servers and channels that will require age verification! :)"

I could remove every speck of risque imagery/topics from my community and there's still a 50% chance we'd get flagged just because we're openly queer.

It's not actually about the kids.

I actually do have the Acadian great-grandpa's non-anglicized name now, but it turns out I can try to find his paper trail or I can do resistance and I decided I gotta do the latter, but I mean. If anyone already versed in how you find papers in Canada wants to drop a website??? LOLOL
I'm not saying that Canada is perfect, I'm saying that the bar is pretty low right now.

I can only imagine the logistics behind this, it is a massive undertaking but also 100 families is just... amazing.

it may be a drop in the bucket, but each drop changed lives & I'm so grateful to @ziibiing.com for organizing this and letting me (us!) be a drop. 💓
just an update from when we talked to the reporter: we’ve now successfully connected over 100 families for direct, peer to peer rent adoption. we’ve collected and immediately distributed…a lot.

it is a drop in the bucket, but all of this is. everyone is just doing what they can.

Bluesky friends, MELIA has had no one fill out an adoption application for her. She's out of the shelter, finally getting the training she needs. And no home to go to when she's done.
Please!! ❤️

The point of the AI project is to provoke despair in creative people. They haven’t produced profits or anything anyone wants, just a steady stream of articles about how us artistic types can’t do the thing we’re already doing, making art. Jokes on them, we’re even better at despair than they are.

Here’s a tip from a lifelong artist who has been to collectives and bohemian spaces my whole life;

Bad art is usually better at being “art” than good art

And AI is not art atall
Have you considered making bad Art?

It's literally better than making nothing and crying about it.

No AI needed. There's all kinds of mediums. If you don't click with any of them make a new one up cuz that also is Art.

I would say in fact it is good mental health practice to enjoy doing creative stuff you are a bit crap at
A small but very deep thing that bothers me about generative AI as a shortcut to practice and work and skill is the basic assumption that it’s impossible to take pleasure in a creative pursuit that you aren’t very good at and I assure you that is not the case

People who use generative AI to skim past creative things the rest of us have to work at fundamentally do not comprehend the most basic elements of the relationship between art and the human mind and spirit

They are denying themselves the greatest pleasures of it and that’s sad and also pathetic

Defund the CIA and use the money to make more Muppet retellings of classic literature
production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA
