I think it's really cool that we have democratic leadership that is largely silent about this issue. A leadership that believes making a "tsk tsk" press release once every month counts as a form of political opposition while otherwise dropping the issue in its entirety.

We documented dozens of cases of brutality — including physical and sexual abuse from guards — that show a humanitarian disaster unfolding at the Fort Bliss military base, where ICE is operating its largest detention center.

President Trump’s mass detention expansion is inhumane and dangerous.

This is a very divided vote. It means we've been encouraging dissent. It now goes to the full committee. Please keep calling and urging your reps to reject it
KOSA passed out of the subcommittee in the House on 13-10 vote. Meaning that they are FINALLY listening to some opposition. But not enough to prevent the other age verification bills from passing, let alone this.

They MUST listen to opposition. Losing this fight is NOT an option.

This about sums up my view. Peer review is imperfect. Science is provisional. Published work will contain errors of execution and interpretation—there is no implementable system to reduce the rate of such errors to zero. Replications, corrections, amendments, and critiques are how it ought to work!
I find the puritanism in the discipline about all this a bit frustrating. We cannot ensure perfection ex ante. That’s why we have the ex post possibility of critiquing published articles. People seem to want peer review to accomplish things it cannot.
