I was thinking about that Alexa super bowl ad where Hemsworth is played up as fearing a.i will "try to kill him."

Finally figured out what it reminded me of. (Extra meta later since Hemsworth plays Thor in the MCU)

Netflix has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.
Sony, the company that sold 'KPop Demon Hunters' for a song, has scrapped a Thai folklore-inspired feature from 'Amphibia' creator Matt Braly and 'Steven Universe' creator Rebecca Sugar two years into development, calling it “not commercial enough.”

One of the most miserable things about living in this era is having to watch the stupidest & most arrogant people in the world have to relearn The Why of literally everything good that we collectively do the hard way.

The answer is always ‘Because a bunch of people died, fuckwit.’

Sometimes, when the ugliness of the world feels like too much to bear, I stop, I take a deep breath, and I remind myself...that one of the new raid bosses in Final Fantasy XIV is an elf dominatrix who transforms into a succubus and has a Kpop-sounding theme song about BDSM.

And I feel better.

I stand with County Executive Calvin Ball as he signs emergency legislation today prohibiting privately owned buildings from being used as ICE detention centers.

Howard County chose dignity, accountability, and its people. Tune into our event now:

my 2028 primary take here is that if AOC makes a serious run it's hers to lose because I think she will be able to most credibly channel the rage of the primary voters
You know a politician is thinking about running for president when they start making moves on foreign policy: AOC will be headed to the Munich Security Conference and will speak in Berlin with a member of Germany's Social Democratic Party.

the pro-Israel lobby seems convinced that somehow this will result in even more pro-Israel behavior next time instead of ambitious politicians looking at what happened and going, well, if I'm going to get hung out to dry I might as well take the popular position

and, well, good luck with that
This is exactly correct. Biden (out of genuine ideological extremism) and Harris (out of generic cowardice) both were extremely pro-Israel, to the displeasure of their party's voting base, and pro-Israel groups didn't credit them at all. 100% factually true.

Adam's take makes much more sense to me than "he wrecked it on purpose" I imagine a guy like Bezos thought he could pitch the conquered WaPo to the Fox News set as a cultural victory and that they'd start reading it but they're all rock stupid and don't care about a paper. They want Tucker and Jesse
Incredible. They destroyed a great newspaper because they hated the people who actually paid for it and read it so much that they'd rather scrap the paper if they couldn't get Tucker Carlson's audience bsky.app/profile/maxt...
Speaking to WaPo employees, editor Matt Murray says cuts are about “positioning ourselves to become more essential to people's lives, and what is becoming a more crowded, competitive and complicated media landscape, and after some years when, candidly, the Post has had struggles to do that."
