Look: Trump learned very early that, for him, actually doing the work is far too difficult, so he defaulted to lying, about all of it, whatever lie fits—who’s to blame, or how he can do it better, or defaming the messenger, or how it just isn’t a problem. This is the framework. It will never change

Trump says the Epstein Files are a Democrat hoax, but only Democrats were guilty of crimes with Epstein.

He says the DOJ should stop releasing files and everyone should stop talking about it, but also the DOJ should charge Democrats with crimes.

This is how you talk when you’re guilty as hell.

It's best to understand that fascists see hypocrisy as a virtue. It's how they signal that the things they are doing to people were never meant to be equally applied.

It's not an inconsistency. It's very consistent to the only true fascist value, which is domination.

I would have a lot more respect for the “unitary executive” theory of the Constitution if just one of its advocates argued for it when a President they didn’t like was in power.

extremely funny to stress how many sleepless nights you worked to do “the best prompts”

McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

The audacity of naked racism, deeming himself as both baseline and arbiter of other cultures.
Fox News' Will Cain: "I’m sure there are very honorable law-abiding upstanding citizens and contributors from the Somali community here in the United States, BUT..."

He goes on to say "we aren’t going to pretend here that all cultures are of equal value or the same."

A mayor-elect openly exercises his First Amendment rights to choose, practice and speak about his religion.

A sitting president claims America has a (different) national religion and weaponizes the federal government to favor his preferences against American citizens and the Constitution.
A mayoral candidate is repeatedly asked to condemn Hamas and denounce anti-Semitism simply because he's Muslim.

A sitting president who promotes white nationalism, employs gutter racists and dines with literal Nazis is given a free pass.
A mayoral candidate saying maybe the city should cover the cost of bus rides gets the full socialism panic treatment before he even tries it.

A sitting president taking billions of dollars worth of shares in private companies gets “I must say, a tad unusual” after it’s been going for nearly a year.

The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!

I’ve said before that online gambling is the thing that made me completely rethink my “prohibition is always the wrong response to vice” beliefs

it’s just too accessible, man, and the online betting sites work harder than any drug dealer to keep people with a problem from quitting
i think online gambling is a cancer that is spreading throughout our society, it was a horrible mistake to de-regulate it, and we desperately need to crack down on it again
i can’t talk about sports gambling anymore without sounding like a crank but i do believe legalized sports gambling is like 15-20% responsible for our current dystopia

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.
