John Lasseter stole the idea and credit for Cars from Jørgen Klubien, an animator who was friends with Lasseter at CalArts and later Pixar, and booted Jørgen to script-writing before removing him from the film altogether.
I know nobody knew about it when writing Coco, but the parallels are uncanny.

At this point, this guy's behavior is just pitiful. Spending your 30s holding petty grudges against people on the internet while pushing away everyone who cared about you & wanted to help, and crashing out over a goddamn direct to video Land Before Time sequel is such a sad way to live life.
I’m gonna be real, this is genuinely some of the most unhinged behavior I’ve seen anyone talking about animation.

Just gonna flat out say it: Diaz has one of the single most annoying, grating, ear-piercing, obnoxiously aggressive voices of any internet reviewer.
Every time he speaks, it sounds like he’s having a psychotic episode and it makes my eardrums feel like they’re going to burst.

Here's some concept art of Elio and Glordon from Elio by Ernesto Nemesio. I still absolutely adore this film with all my heart and it should have absolutely have done better in theaters. I hope people give it a chance when it drops on Disney+ next week. It's a great Pixar film.
