A few days ago my friend lost his young daughter to a rare genetic condition. Because it’s uncommon capitalist research institutions don’t dedicate money or time to studying it even though a cure is possible

Please help honor her memory by voting for Batten Disease research to receive grant funding
One amazing way to keep Amelia’s fight against Batten Disease going is to vote for the BDSRA in the Project for Awesome 2026. Voting ends on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Just head to: projectforawesome.com/videos/proje...

I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it

Did a quick ‘n dirty (and very shaky) time lapse of one of my favorite #StarTrek mugs. (as the hot liquid goes in Natalie do they disappear from the transporter room, but they appear on a planet surface on the other side.)

I found this weird toothpaste in the garage and I started brushing my teeth with it. My teeth have never been stronger and all the holes are filled in. I'm never going to the dentist again!

genuinely cannot recommend following Ken enough, if you've ever wanted to learn every detail of sliding down an ice chute at a million miles an hour on a tiny sled he's got you

this is what the Olympics is all about
A quick thread on the issues at the start in both men's and women's luge this week.
Hey Ken, I noticed in the luge, the start is really tricky, you have to be to nearly all the way to the right of the track, but avoid hitting the wall on the start.

Is this poor track design?

Or is it supposed to be this way for a challenge?

PSA: if you find an animal and want to keep it, take it to animal control anyway. They will let you have right of first refusal for adoption if no owner is found. Once you sign the adoption papers, the animal is legally yours, no matter what happens later, plus they'll spay/neuter if needed.

I was just denied entry to the Dilley detention facility while my constituent, seven-year-old Diana, remains inside.

What kind of sick, horrific conditions are children being forced to endure in there?

I will be back tomorrow. Accountability can’t wait.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
