Once it occurred to me that the DSA has become the L in DFL, local political divisions started to make more sense.
A neighboring family had Becka Thompson signs on their corner lot, but my kid noticed that they've replaced them with Aurin Chowdhury signs. My assumption is that they knew Thompson through Minnehaha Academy and hadn't previously heard about her racist behavior and unhinged frivolous lawsuit.
Had a conversation with a fellow soccer parent who was talking about voting for her and just said to go look at her various social media accounts. He back tracked on that vote plan pretty quick lol
Rick Kupchella's recent twitter follows are going off the deep end.
And, of course, Becka Thompson's supporters bulk reported my comment.
The best thing Becka Thompson has going for her is people don't know about her toxic behavior. Obviously, there are people who do know and don't care, but there are definitely those who'll reject her once they know more about her.
Happy Balloon Boy Day to those who celebrate. I thought pardons involved an admission of guilt?

When the Paris Accord was signed in 2016, less than 5% of the installed global electricity production capacity was solar. Coal was 31% and methane was 26%.

In 2024, solar was almost 20% of installed capacity and coal was down to 23% and methane was down to less than 22%!
The "there's no such thing as vegetables" concept is also a good one.

Rejecting donations from Trump-backing slumlords would send the wrong message to other Trump-backing slumlords.
apparently when questioned about accepting landlord money from 110 grant resident, elizabeth shaffer says “it’s only $600.” if that’s the case, why not return it? it’s only $600. make a show of it, rejecting money from this slumlord who gave half a million to trump. tell him you reject his values

Look, obviously I think that Becka Thompson is wrong for Ward 12, wrong for the city council, wrong for public service. But you don't have to take my word for it! You can just see what she says for herself. (And hoo, boy. It's a doozy). (sorry for the post from the bad place)

Historians argue that Trump indicting his enemies one-by-one rather than having them murdered in a single night proves he’s not a fascist.
This seems reasonable.
The Minneapolis City Council passed a new ordinance that will require landlords who own properties repeatedly flagged for health and safety violations to face a public hearing before their licenses are renewed.

I don’t know if anyone is keeping score but groups affiliated with Frey and Joe Rad have now been found guilty of campaign violations at least twice in this election cycle. That doesn’t even count the one guilty guy they were helping lying about his residence for caucusing. Sheesh!
