It is honestly hilarious to watch all these high-dollar professionals wring their hands over something that literally does not matter even a little. It’s James Bond. He’s been nine different middle-aged dudes for 70 years with no explanation. No one is asking for one now and no one cares.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

One thing I love that I only noticed after binge watching is that Columbo’s schtick with the perps completely turns off when he’s talking to anyone who’s not the perp. If it’s just a rando he needs a small fact from he gets really brusque and to-the-point, like “yadda yadda you’re in my way here.”

My brain as merged the Zohran sign meme and the TMNT title meme so now every time I see one of these I try to sing it to the TMNT tune.

Jeremy, I have followed your science advocacy on this platform with respect, but I find this thread deeply hurtful and sad and I am going to tell you why. While my wife did her postdoc at CSHL, she and our many dear friends had to endure the racist rhetoric of this man, which did constant harm
On one evening, the speakers were divided up and went to dinner parties hosted by some of the wealthy folks who lived around Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island. My dinner was delightful, with good conversation with our host (the mayor of a nearby village), his friends, and some other speakers.

Hey folks, as news of Watson's demise spreads, please don't set aside his weighty legacy of misogyny and racism. He was truly among the worst of us. www.vox.com/2019/1/15/18...
DNA scientist James Watson has a remarkably long history of sexist, racist public comments
“People say it would be terrible if we made all girls pretty,” he said in 2003. “I think it would be great.”

I know this is pedantic, but Kim Davis was not "jailed for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses." She was jailed for contempt of court because she refused to follow a court order (she had stopped issuing all marriage licenses). NYT makes it sound like the Woke Police broke down her door.
