1. My job isn't publicly funded. It would be rather unusual for government to fund a person whose job includes criticising them.

Taking a moment to recognise a really great news story and also to shout out to my brother in law, quoted in this piece, whose work with Ulster Wildlife helped to make this possible.
There was a time not long ago where *any* reference to *any* state replicating Nazi policies was met with allegations of Godwin's Law.
I think it's well past time for a reverse version, where it's understood to be wildly dishonest not to draw those parallels.
