They steal our likenesses, they steal our copyrighted work, they don't pay nearly enough in taxes and now they want our tax dollars to guarantee *their* business risks?

Today, OpenAI’s CFO said the US government should guarantee the debt the company takes on to finance its infrastructure build.

Not a sign of a sustainable business model that can stand on its own.

NEW: The US Army website for its bases in Bavaria, Germany told its soldiers and employees that it might need to obtain free food from the German government during the US government shutdown.

The Army later altered publication to remove a list of food banks, but we have the original text here:
US Army Tells Soldiers to Go to German Food Bank, Then Deletes It
The initial 'Shutdown Guidance' for the US Army Garrison Bavaria included instructions to go to German food banks.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

These wannabe aristocrats named their fund 1789 Capital.

Curious choice—1789 was a terrible year for aristocrats, what with the storming of the Bastille and the shadow of the guillotine soon to arrive.
Meet Rockbridge, the secretive donor circle that lifted JD Vance is now re-writing MAGA’s future.

It roots its action in a “controversial theory — an ‘aristocracy’ is needed to move the country forward.”

It’s method: a venture capital approach to politics.

A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.

Sound efficient?

30,000 deaths in one year
> 80/day

In case you're wondering about that figure, it comes from the SSA Office of the Chief Actuary and was given in Congressional testimony in 2024. It doesn't even include people who died while waiting for an administrative appeals hearing or cases in federal court.
NEVER FORGET: The Trump Administration wants to CUT Social Security Disability Benefits for ELIGIBLE Americans. In fiscal year 2023, 30,000 people died while WAITING for their disability decisions.
