We have that long history to thank for Trump’s regime change at home, too.
The US wants regime change & it has nothing to do with so called concerns about democracy. The US has a long history of overthrowing govts of all types, including elected ones, & it never bothers about democracy with its client states in the M/E

Everybody knows what its about

Born into a culture that’s a target of racism in your country, you can either fight the racism, keep your head down, or become the oppressor. Kishwer gambled on the third & thinks she has to keep escalating as oppressor to keep her place.
Kishwer Falkner in The Times talking about the rights of "biological people". As compared to trans people, who are, of course, non-biological.

“Biological people.” Wow. Where do we draw that line, Kishwer? You wouldn’t like a lot of the historical precedents.

Sorry/not sorry but RFK Jr.’s appearance & voice make him easy to blame for disease.
There is blood on the hands of Donald Trump, RFK, and every Republican who has allowed this sham to go on for far too long. When kids die unnecessarily and once-eradicated diseases darken the doors of terrified families and pediatricians, Americans will know who is responsible.
Breaking: After contentious debates and three failed attempts at a vote, a federal vaccine committee decided on Friday to end the decades-long recommendation that all newborns be immunized at birth against hepatitis B.

It's notable that, even in an article critical of RFK Jr., the reporter hedges, saying "There’s no good evidence of serious, widespread harm from the vaccine" rather than just "vaccines are safe." RFK Jr. has made a career of exploiting the ambiguity of the former.

It's hard to explain to normies how much effort Trump is putting into anti-trans policies.

This is like the 12th thing just this week. And there were 12 things the week before, and 12 things the week before that. There will be 12 things next week.

This is almost everything the government is doing.
BREAKING: Trump administration plans to end prison rape protections for trans & intersex people, memo says. A DOJ memo says certain standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) do not align with Trump’s Jan. 20 anti-trans executive order, @byadamrhodes.bsky.social reports.

There’s very little more dangerous than a wealthy, powerful man who’s convinced he’s an unassailably good person.
You see from the comments here that Cuban probably made the right choice for himself.

He was also using this site before you could limit replies, notifications, and quote posts, which would solve the problem for most people but probably not Cuban, tbh.

Fuck you of you think trans rights should be sacrificed "for the good of democracy".

The anti democracy machine is the anti-trans machine. Get that through your skulls.

Yes, this. They hit a profit limit with social media data & attention so they created a tool that both gets inside people’s minds & supplants human interactions.
Framing GenAI as a battle between teachers and students is a red herring. Students and educators are on the same side. The real opposition are the data extraction firms and brokerages and their allies among the managerial class.

The stock market is currently decoupled from reality. I think that's what people said about 1928, too.
The top-10 carmakers by market cap make up 75% of global passenger car sales.

Tesla makes up less than 2%.

The Tesla bubble will be widely documented in history books.

Sooooooo good. Caught season 1 just before it was slated to disappear from netflix. Gary Oldman is just so astonishingly good! Seeing how many noms & how few awards... cheated. He's absolutely one of the best actors out there.
Finally watching the first season of Slow Horses. Hubs is not a fan…but then he doesn’t like mystery or thrillers the way I do.

Yesterday the President fell asleep, yet again, during a televised fake Cabinet meeting staged so that each of his courtiers could heap praise on him, praise for which he couldn't stay conscious. He woke up just long enough to spew racism. Why is this not being treated as an emergency? >

Authors! Academic libraries are congenial to getting purchase requests from you for your work. We might say no if it's not within our collection areas. BUT! Never never never pose as a fake student at our institution making a request. Easily discovered & your work will be blacklisted.
