A 15 year old boy with autism went missing earlier this week

He was selling fruit with his family in Springbranch when he disappeared

They filed a missing person’s report & begged the public to help find him

Turns out he was in a Houston ICE detention facility

They kidnapped a disabled child!

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

Despite all of Susan Collins’s **concerns**, Russ Vought, who she voted to confirm, still went ahead and fired a boatload of hard-working Americans.

SUSAN COLLINS, Wednesday: "I've made very clear that I do not believe there should be firings of furloughed workers."

"Why aren't the Free Palestine people cheering about the ceasefire?"

If you saw a man beating a child into a coma, would you cheer after the beating stopped? No, your first reaction would be horror at what happened and your second would be fear that he'll attack the kid again.

BREAKING: Friday night massacre underway at CDC. Doznes of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:

Without the MMWR we’ll be dying & not know why, who, how many, or where to direct resources. A dark age. WTF.

What Thiel is saying about tax havens = what Altman is saying about copyright:

"I can't be rich unless you let me steal from you."

This is how Broligarchs differ from oligarchs of yore: the latter tried to hide their thievery; the Broligarchs trumpet their entitlement to steal as a natural right.

More judges speak to the press (the NYT) about what a disaster the Supreme Court (specifically the shadow docket) has been - “incredibly demoralizing & troubling”; a “judicial crisis”; a “slap in the face to district courts.” www.nytimes.com/2025/10/11/u...

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

It’s no wonder people stop scrolling at google’s AI answers. I just went to 5 commercial sites on my phone looking for answers and the ads made scrolling so impossible I gave up. When the internet sucks ass, you look for alternatives.

The campaign against “antifa” is about establishing a beachhead for further attacks on speech and assembly rights. We see that today in the effort to preemptively label No Kings protesters as “terrorists.”

I know this case is all over - & it should be - but Turning Point USA has waged a harassment campaign against faculty for more than a decade. I know of at least a half dozen other faculty, personally, who have received death threats and several of those who felt so unsafe they too left their homes

Are we great yet?

Mark Bray, a Rutgers University professor and expert on anti-fascist groups, is fleeing to Spain with his family due to death threats that stem from a campaign by Turning Point USA and other conservative groups to get him fired, falsely labeling him as an antifa member.

Three key points:
1) The admin has been planning mass firings to begin in October since February
2) The work necessary to carry out mass firings is illegal during a shutdown, violating the Antideficiency Act, which carries a criminal penalty
3) This harms America, ridding us of talent and expertise

Now that the local and national press have started to cover the Portland ICE area round-the-clock in reaction to the President, Antifa have devised a plan where they are encouraging one another to come in animal costumes.

The costumes serve the function of masking the violent extremism to make the direct action appear like a family-friendly gathering on camera, and to whitewash the past ultraviolence.

In 2019, Antifa devised a similar plot by giving out free "milkshakes" at a protest. But they couldn't contain their bloodthirst and nearly killed me when they saw me. In 2020, they mobilized a fake "Wall of Moms" where female Antifa supporters and members wore yellow shirts to act as human body shields while violent rioters behind them hurled projectile weapons.

Yeah, possibly, but bunkers & LLM’s seem more like they’re both consistent with escaping consequences.

Thiel has upped the ante from weird to unhinged. If Trump kicks it before 2028, this man's protege steps into the oval office & we're a giant step closer to an apocalyptic techno-theocracy that I don't think has ever happened before and I don't like it.
Inside billionaire Peter Thiel’s private lectures: Warnings of ‘the Antichrist’ and U.S. destruction
In leaked recordings of private lectures by tech billionaire Peter Thiel he argued that “the Antichrist” is likely to take the form of a critic of technology.

7. Being both creative and accurate. The "temperature" control can *either* generate the most probable (least creative) next word, OR a less probable, and more unexpected but also likely less accurate next word. It can't be both unpredictable and accurate. Only expert humans can do that.

6. Compassion: It will only tell you what is linguistically probable, given your prompts. It has already killed people with probable responses to their most self-destructive impulses. Probability is a dangerous stand-in for compassionate care.

5. Know by experience: It has no sensory data: no scent of a rose, no being out of breath with laughter, no aching back, no proprioception of a perfect layup, no psychic pain of betrayal. Art is a reaction to all these things AND one's knowledge of (and skill with) past art & technique.

4. Understand value and significance: Again, because the LLM data is unstructured, there's no difference to GenAI between words by James Baldwin and words by some basement blogger. Humans aren't universally better at distinguishing, but we can learn. GenAI can't, structurally.
