A collection of historic and ancient little guys; starting with the most "little guy" of all "little guys":
Buddo, found at the neolithic settlement Skara Brae on the Orkney Islands, circa 2,900 - 2,400 BC

Speaking as someone who was responsible for hiring actors in 3 big AAA video games, VO is one of the cheapest assets in the game. Gargantuan bang for buck. I think we spent as much on a single character model as we did on all the VO for the whole game.

this fact is the definitive judgment on kirk's life
ultimately, no one even grieved Charlie Kirk. he was just another thing for the worst people on earth to get outraged over. and when the outrage of real events wasn't enough, they invented new ones.

not even his wife saw his death as anything other than an opportunity.
my read is they were trying to whip up the usual frenzy, but then the effort got blown up by Candace Owens saying The Jews did it

Kemono no Souja Erin is fascinating and unique, adapting a novel featuring some relatively heavy topics, into a kid-friendly show, at an epic 50-episode scope no less.
We don't really get projects like that anymore.
And I've never met anyone aware of it's existence, even among anime aficionados.

One of the many reasons AI can't produce good writing is it can't hate its own writing. It can't think to itself "Maybe I'm illiterate" during the writing process. And that's essential

Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

🧵⬇️
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

I guess I now have to do a thread on shoes in ancient Mesopotamia in response to this (which happens to be from one of my favourite accounts).

I’m not an archaeologist, nor do I really know anything about shoes, but let’s go on this journey together.
can't believe this ancient mesopotamia shoe wearing ass said people need to dress up at the airport

It's extremely depressing that anime went from a more obscure medium to front and center mainstream during my lifetime, but this translated to the medium transitioning from "for fans by fans" to pure exploitative capitalism with us as the captive audience
