This isn't mine, and I can't definitively find the original source. But I love this little bit of wisdom:

"If you're a fifteen-minute walk from a coffee shop, but the server there has to drive an hour to get to work, you don't live in a walkable city. You live in a theme park."
For all the fearmongering about capital flight from New York City, there’s an exodus few want to talk about: working people.

Sky-high rents and outrageous child care costs are already pushing families out of the city they keep running.

That’s what we have to change.

Among other things, the book series contains a slavery apologia. Not sure that is what I would consider "liberalism" but ymmv
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”

As the parent of someone with bipolar disorder, I gotta say: Kanye is not a racist dickbag because he is bipolar; he is a racist dickbag who happens to be bipolar.

If we are going to run nationwide Tuskegee experiments on people, those experiments should be exclusively run on Kirk Milhoan, RFK Jr, and the rest of their merry band of child murderers. Put them all in quarantine, start dropping microbes on them, and let the chips fall where they may.
RFK Jr. appointee Kirk Milhoan has just clearly stated, out loud, that he wants to experiment on the people of the United States by seeing what happens as vaccination coverage plummets and infectious diseases spread.

Bueckers’ 2025 WNBA rookie base salary was $78,831. Giving $50,000 from winning the Unrivaled FT contest is rad.
Paige Bueckers (Dallas Wings, Breeze FC) is donating $50,000 to relief efforts organised in response to ICE raids in her hometown of Hopkins, Minnesota. On Monday Bueckers won $50,000 in the #Unrivaled free throw competition after successfully scoring 13 free throws. (Source @brwsports)

Just a few days ago he said they have "absolute immunity". He is walking that back because he has noticed that even a lot of his supporters have turned on ICE and he is scared. Amazingly there are still idiots in Democratic leadership afraid to take a stand.
JD Vance: "I didn't say that officers who engaged in wrongdoing would enjoy immunity. That's absurd. What I did say is that when federal law enforcement officers violate the law that's typically something federal officials would look into. We don't want these guys to have kangaroo courts."

Abolish ICE is quickly becoming the (small c) conservative position. "Abolish, then place a bounty on the head of all former ICE leaders and stormtroopers" is the middle of the road position.

Agreeing to a percentage of net revenue from a group of liars like NBA owners is agreeing to never get paid. Just ask anyone whose ever had points of the net on a Hollywood movie
The NBA (majority owner of the WNBA) has promised the players a percentage of net revenue.

As I write, it seems like the percentages are imaginary. That is not surprising. The NBA also imagines a new definition of net revenue (that isn't in any textbook!).

Aside from everything else, Europe (excepting Russia) doesn't produce any oil either! How is subservient to OPEC/US any better than "subservient to China"? And unlike oil, which is where it is, Europe could start building batteries if they so chose.
Lutnick at Davos: "Why are you going to do solar and wind? Why would Europe agree to be net zero in 2030 when they don't make a battery? They don't make a battery! So if they go 2030, they are deciding to be subservient to China." (Get a load of the looks on the other panelists' faces)
