If this story is accurate, then all those stories about Keir Starmer meticulously selecting only the highest-quality candidates in 2024 were horseshit and, in reality, we are now governed by a crop of MPs personally selected by the financially compromised ‘best pal’ of a child sex trafficker.
Huge story in @theipaper.com

"[Mandelson] was very involved in all the details; I think he enjoyed it. He was involved in all the personalities and the mechanics including asking the question of who do we want in which seat"

Probably a breach of GDPR laws too ...

Mandelson was given secret spreadsheet to vet left-wing MPs in Labour power struggle
The revelation shows the extent of Mandelson’s direct involvement in the bitter battle to gain control of the party ahead of the 2024 general election

Small steps/ cracks are welcome: More of this please. Everywhere.
Keir Starmer truly would rather stare into a delivery driver's eyes as the flickering embers of their life disappears than do this.
Incredible contrast between this and Keir Starmer running a delivery driver over

Labour united I the quest for power… I meant untied
Fitting that Streeting, who rose by carrying water for the worst people in the world, should fall for the same reason.
In these dark days of February, a little something to look forward to.

If only Starmer had some sort of training in critical and analytical thinking so he could have questioned a documented, demonstrable liar and finagler more closely to get to the truth … wait…
Spare a thought for the real victim: the white man in power

In this week's column I seek to explain Keir Starmer's flat refusal to change our electoral system, even though its gross unfairness could put Reform UK in power on <30% of the vote. The reasons, I believe, are deeply cynical and disturbing. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
If Reform ever wins power in Westminster, it will be because of Labour’s cowardice | George Monbiot
Starmer could improve our unfair electoral system to stop the hard right, but he won’t. All the party has left are threats about ‘splitting the vote’, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

When we asked Reform if they used NationBuilder, Richard Tice, Reform’s deputy leader, denied it. That denial was signed with a ‘statement of truth’. But we can now reveal that in July 2025, Tice and Reform had to make an embarrassing admission – Tice was wrong and Reform does use NationBuilder.

When voters asked Reform about their data, the party ignored them – now they’ll have to explain in court why they don’t listen

I know I shouldn't, but I actually quite enjoy watching Sir Keir Starmer's carefully inflated self-image whistle fart noises as it spins off into the rafters as he deflates. This is what comes of elevating someone of the calibre of an assistant manager at a provincial Spud-U-Like to high office.

Never forget that this current government are also terrible bastards who will definitely abuse these powers too.

Let's talk about Corporate Welfare. Where companies posting record profits, year after year, pay their workers/serfs poverty wages that the government has to top up through Universal Credit. Seriously, let's talk about THAT.
Instead of talking about another failed Tory going to Reform and sucking all the air out of the room, could we talk about the poverty in the U.K.? The Tories broke it, Labour can’t fix it and Reform will only make them poorer. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

Labour would prefer Reform to win than the Greens. That tells you who's side Labour is on. It's not ours.

The Labour Party is no longer a left wing party. The quicker their voters realise this and stop voting Labour the quicker we can really start to defend against Reform.
What's the outcome that terrifies Labour most in the Gorton by-election?

Reform winning?

Nope. It's the Greens they're most worried about.

They'd prefer Reform to win, rather than the Greens.
