I've now migrated two two different European countries, and it's really clarified my thinking whenever I revisit the UK about how the topic is handled both here and there. It's absolutely maddening. We are not some fungible tap.
This completely. I grew up surrounded by migrants in my family and communities, and find the discussion in the UK, US and EU that reduces fascinating people into mere fuel for an economic machine disgustingly dehumanising👇🎯

A lot of people need to stop viewing migration as an infinity cheat to to beat demographic restructuring.
It's the same mistake as thinking Ireland, Eastern and Southern Europe could be an endless source of cheap labour even as those societies experienced declining birthrates and rising prosperity
