My contribution to this book, On Phantom Wings, is for people who love birds, hate cops, and wish more weird megafauna walked the earth.
Have you preordered The Writhing, Verdant End, which comes out in ~two weeks? The beauty, terror, and strangeness of nature await you! Darkness and transcendence in the face of apocalypse! #booksky

I would love someone to put out a deep dive on how thoroughly this administration is obsessed with displacing people who are stably housed into unsupported homelessness and then jailing them for it. They're fixated on destabilizing housing on purpose and I haven't seen anyone really dig into that.
I spent about a decade deeply involved with overseeing and planning for CoC grants. This is an absolute disaster for hundreds of thousands of formerly homeless adults with disabilities. Reversing decades of best practices and work in a single grant cycle. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/12/u...

Sometimes the trending tab introduces me to people I've never heard of and wish I didn't have to learn about. People who should only ever trend again once their souls (if they have them) leave this earth.

Sometimes, for Cursed Morsels, I get to edit an incredibly weird piece that's unlike most anything I've ever read, and that's a super fucking cool experience. Love, love, love it. This surveillance horror and Weird fiction anthology is gonna ruuuuuuuuuule.

Sometimes I reread stories I've published for Cursed Morsels and I'm like, hell yeah, I was so right to publish that. Lupus in Fabula is brimming with stories that provoke that reaction. Cover to cover bangers.
If you like your horror strange and sad and beautiful with a focus on ordinary people, you'll love Lupus in Fabula. These stories drip with atmosphere and aren't eager to answer all the questions they pose. In short, this book absolutely rules. #BookSky

It is genuinely incredible to me how much evidence there is to support investing in the public good and how much animus there is to do this simple, effective thing.

My brain is stress-addled and in desperate need of a break. Thanks for understanding and submitting your cool stuff in February instead!

I've just been sending "fuck off, AI creep" and "go to Hell" to those AI book promotion emails, and I almost always get AI-generated emails in return. I know I shouldn't reply because no human is reading it anyway, but I can't help it!

Running a press is hard, but when I look at this graphic and think about all the cool books that have come from Cursed Morsels, it all feels worth it.
We're coming up on five years of Cursed Morsels, which feels absolutely wild! If you don't know us, our whole thing is anti-capitalist, anti-fascist, and pro-queer short horror and Weird fiction. If that sounds like your thing, grab something(s) from our store!

I've been so stupid busy lately, and I really just want--NEED--time to work on my anniversary gift(s) for @cozy-odonnell.bsky.social, read Moonflow in the bath, and watch The Chair Company. It's felt so hard to find a good chunk of time.

My disdain for the Catholic Church began when the Catholic school my mom worked for fired her for marrying a Lutheran, and that disdain grows a thousandfold every time the Church pulls shit like this. These bishops fucking suck.
You do not have to hand it to the Catholic bishops. In the same meeting, they banned gender affirming care at all Catholic hospitals nationwide.

I'll never go back to horror fiction podcasting again, but in podcasting's defense (a phrase I loathe to utter), it DID force me to read a shitload of short fiction.

The reason the headline is "doom!" is because when you see what's already been done, you see that we can do more,
which means things can get better,
which means rich people's "it's over, no stopping this, might as well let us do what we want" manipulation might stop working. Can't have that.

Since June, more than 1000 immigrants like Diana whose arrests in Chicago were unlawful have already been deported, despite them being eligible for 1) bond release, and/or 2) ongoing immigration & asylum hearings.

So happy Diana is coming home, but we have to keep up the pressure. Be relentless.
