A real piece of work in progress. Comics and music and wrestling and soccer and nature and, look, probably family stuff. Almost Toronto. (he, him)
Great review in which many of the reasons I love Ben Sears’ work are better articulated than I could have attempted.

He’s a singular cartoonist who makes me think of greats in other fields like animation and picture book illustration, but is also unmistakably Comics.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

It’s always 3 am somewhere.
1990s house artists the KLF went into the funeral business 23 years after they burned a million quid and disappeared from the music industry and today is their annual Day of the Dead where they add more bricks containing human ashes to a pyramid that they plan to complete in 2323.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

Not an AEW guy, but saw some clips on Instagram and anyone who puts a belt on Samoa Joe is a-ok with me. Also: Swerve looks like the coolest guy to ever live.

IMPORTANT!

(I am just so so so so tired of all this, but I guess jumping through hoops to stop the anti-life machine is part of the deal when you use free, but also paid, software programs.)
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Still thinking about former WWF mid-card hulk Ted Arcidi stealing the show in The Chair Company. My buddy had his action figure in late 1980s.
Probably the third-best wrestler to be managed by Paul Bearer, behind Mick Foley and Rick Rude?
So many wrestlers working w/Tim Robinson: you love to see it.

This is lovely. (The linked post, but also the art below.)

My allegiance lies with those early Kubert-drawn issues and especially the John Ostrander-written 38 issues and three annuals in the 90s, but Hawkman has always been such a visually striking super-hero.

Struggling with whether the comic I read last night is really the best thing I’ve read in anno Domini 2025 or if it’s just recency bias, but I am pretty sure it’s the former. (Battle for second place is pre try tightly contested between two books, and third place is, like, a six-way tie right now.)

They beat Nicaragua tonight, and then the players watched the Costa Rica v. Honduras match on phones on the pitch to see their fate confirmed.

Haiti are back in the World Cup for the first time since 1974. 51 years.
