If you want to help Minnesota from afar, there’s no shortage of ways to offer support
For ease of navigation and sharing, I have turned my little list into a website: standwithminnesota.org
Stop scrolling for a minute. Read this micro by @djpoissant.bsky.social. Feel your own heart expand as the story does.
Thrilled have a 500-word story up today at The Cincinnati Review @cincinnatireview.bsky.social . This story started as an idea for an ending that I texted myself and carried around on a phone for years. Finishing was just a matter of finding a beginning:

I can't stop thinking about this.

Is *ANY* Democratic senator talking about conditioning their vote on measures that would actually free kidnapped people or even improve the conditions of those in concentration camps?

Hey US friends - in addition to calling your senators to tell them to abolish ICE, it’s also a great day to tell them to vote NO on HJ Resolution 140 that would strip environmental protections from public lands surrounding Minnesota’s Boundary Waters.

Oh, you know, just a metro daily newspaper running a service journalism roundup of munitions the government has used against its own people
Here's how to identify some crowd control munitions, canisters of which federal agents have left on the ground after deploying them against people in Minnesota. bit.ly/3YWp1jE

This sure seems more like the tyranny the Constitution is supposed to protect against than forgiving student loans.

Do yourself a kindness. Turn off autoplay. You do not need to traumatize yourself watching a paramilitary execute someone even once, much less over & over. Take social media breaks as needed. Call a friend. Hug your kids. Make art.
to turn off autoplaying video on the bluesky mobile app

select the icon in the top left corner

go to settings

go to content and media

make sure "autoplay videos and gifs" is toggled off

Happy to be with so many of my fellow Minnesotans in the bitter cold to chant “No hate, no fear. ICE is not welcome here.”

National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

Is it @startribune.com policy to refer to anyone confronting ICE as a protester? This obscures the nature of what people are doing. We're not protesting ICE. We're constitutional observers documenting human rights abuses by agents of the state.

Targeting an indie toy store isn’t the flex you think it is, DHS.
DHS employees entered our store this afternoon and served us a Notice of Inspection, demanding copies of I9 forms for each employee.

In 27 years as shopkeepers, we have never been subjected to this type of investigation.
