Things that are certain in the universe:

- death
- taxes
- the German government being unable not to feed the Polish far-right with a very low-hanging fruit
The Auschwitz Museum has criticised the German government for issuing a statement that commemorated various groups of victims of Nazism but failed to include Poles, millions of whom were killed and who were the first prisoners at Auschwitz.

There's an old Soviet joke that suddenly applies to USA. So ICE agents arrest a guy for writing "Clearly the President is insane and out of touch with reality" on social media. The guy protests: "But I mean the President of Colombia!". "You won't fool us, we know which president is insane".
Clearly the President is insane and out of touch with reality.

We in Poland have defeated the Communists without using guns at all. The people who advocated armed resistance in the 70s and 80s turned out to have been communist secret service collaborators (Moczulski).
under most circumstances a gun will not make you safer. it will be used as evidence that your death was justified.

We are ruled by murderous gangs of thugs, that's for sure, but i don't want to trade these thugs for another set of war criminals and fake authorities.

We all deserve a dignified life under a democratically elected government who represents us all.
a fake ass prince installed by force ain't it.

Carney today in Davos:

"What would it mean for middle powers to 'live in truth'? It means naming reality. Stop invoking the 'rules-based international order' as though it still functions as advertised...

A brilliant speech by Canada's Mark Carney in Davos: "The old order is not coming back. We should not mourn it. Nostalgia is not a strategy...The powerful have their power. But we have something too — the capacity to stop pretending, to name reality, to build our strength at home & to act together."

The damage which possibly derailed the train in Spain and caused the death of 39 people looks suspiciously similar to the damage caused in Poland near Ukraine two months ago.

Left pic Spain, right pic Poland.

This should be obvious to everyone: if Europe backs down and lets the US take Greenland, the transatlantic relationship would no longer be an alliance. Europeans would become dominated American satellites without sovereignty just like EEuropeans were Soviet satellites in the Warsaw Pact years.

What makes this so much worse of a betrayal is that there is a war raging in Europe. Trump looked at this and decided that this war made us Europeans weak enough to take advantage of. We should never forget that.

There is no off-ramp with him. The only off-ramp is to remove him. Europe spent a year trying to appease him, and it only made things worse. At this I believe that the average American citizen who is also sick of this crap will also appreciate it if we start to be more confrontational.
Donald Trump's upcoming address to the World Economic Forum in Davos will help determine the tone of Europe's response to the U.S. president's tariff threats as leaders desperately search for an off-ramp from the standoff

To those who are claiming that it'd be too cruel and extreme for the EU to cut off American tourist visas now (or to otherwise sanction or inconvenience us Americans in any way)....

You're REALLY not gonna like what happens if the madman Trump is permitted to set off a hot war with Europe.
