Maybe we beed some kind of political campaign finance laws that separate the president from the congress?

Some way of enforcing some kind of independence at the congressional level.

IDK, but we need something.
Again, it would be good if someone in DC (and at the NYT) demanded to know the legal justification for bombing Iran right now, instead of just treating this as something to be decided by the will of the god emperor,

Yep.

In the past 20 years I may have become more a "centrist" Democrat, sometimes in policy, sometimes in tactics...but since 2020 I have become a firm Bernie anti-billionaire.

Extreme wealth, its corrupting power, and the awful kind of people who often seek it has poisoned this country.

This interview hits on a central truth about progressive/Dems issues in governance...but it actively avoids an obvious truth IMHO -

In the end SOMEONE must be given the power to make the decisions, and they will be villified by those who don't like the decision.

There should be no wrangling.

Congress are the People's representatives.

They should know.
Exclusive: A U.S. official has alleged wrongdoing by U.S. spy chief Tulsi Gabbard in a complaint that is so highly classified it has sparked months of wrangling over how to share it with Congress, according to people familiar with the matter.

Congress hasn’t seen the complaint, which was filed eight months ago with the U.S. intelligence community watchdog’s office.

Congress needs to pass a law that no federal employee is allowed to sign an NDA related to the government.

We have clearances and classifications if we need information safeguarded.

So I really really hate to type this...but I think it matters when these allegations were made.

Pretty 2015 and I think they are on more solid ground.

Post 2016 and definitely post Epstein becoming an issue these could easily be cranks.

Mentioning just the popular suspects (Musk, etc)?
The new Epstein files production features numerous allegations made against Donald Trump and others.

Remember folks, we have a criminal president who has crimed his whole life...so he feels he's been (unfairly) "targeted" by the law his whole life...so he's just doing to his enemies what he's felt has been done to him.

Because he can't understand he's a criminal.

Looks like Greg Bovino is the chosen fall guy as the Trump admin scrambles to navigate the anti-ICE backlash. Reportedly being "forced into retirement" and denied access to his social media accounts.

Don't accept it for a second. Keep pushing for full accountability.

One of the hardest things to do is bring campaign-level communications to the work of governance, and snowstorms are notoriously one of the biggest litmus tests that less-engaged voters use to judge mayoral administrations. This is an excellent way to communicate.

The regime and many of its supporters are surprised to see so many people in America define "Us" as "my neighbors, my city, my state, my country," rather than as "my race and gender."

And they seem to have real trouble processing the idea of taking risks to help others and stand on principle.
They cannot believe that white people would put themselves in harm's way to protest the atrocities of ICE. They cannot believe people would go out in subzero temperatures to protest their brutality. They cannot believe that people would organize to let the world know evil has no place here.
