"After taking a wrong turn, the ArchdukeTaoiseach's carriage was crossing the Rosie Hackett Bridge when a deranged drag queen on a bicycle rode by with a potato gun. A shot rang out! The little nub of potato found its mark.

War had begun"
Considering the life I've had, it'll really be very funny if it's the contempt that government has for cycling and its obsessive erotic affair with cars that eventually radicalises me into throwing myself in front of the King's horse

Trump and Johnson can't nationalize elections, nor can Trump cancel them. What they are signaling is that they will try to repeat the 2020 "stop the steal" routine in Nov. and that Congress is on board.

But "election fraud" won't work for congressional voting the way it can for a statewide race.

Fucking gombeens. Love to be seen to do something and it's inevitably the stupid knee-jerk wrong thing rather than the more difficult necessary evidence based thing that will upset some of their gombeen friends
And there we have it folks, having failed to do anything to halt the injury and death toll on our roads the government now plans to criminalise cycling.

This will kill bike share schemes around the country. @bleeperactive.bsky.social

Based on polling here, gammon & aspring gammon make up a mere 14% of the electorate. They all vote FF/G anyway! This was NOT a vote winner, this was about money & social access. Not sure if that's more evil or pathetic

The rejection of a ban on foxhunting with dogs has undermined trust in politics, according to the latest RED C poll .

This coming from a gov who is trying to remove regular people's access to environmental info and justice and participation in the planning process.
Just voluntarily handing over enormous power to corporations.
We already have laws protecting investors, if they aren't good enough then change them
I know there's a massive amount going on but the government amending the arbitration act to sign us up to CETA needs serious coverage and the risks of corporate courts need to be spelled out.

Glad I haven't left the country in over a decade. The Commission wants to give their collective heads a rattle if they think this is going to fly with the people of Europe. Another reason the Commission must be massively reformed
The Trump administration is demanding access to the European travelers' sensitive data.

The move could endanger EU citizens' privacy, lawmakers and civil rights groups warn.

Micheál Martin has been a TD for 37 years. He’s been in government for 25 of those years and in cabinet for 20 of those years. He’s been either Tánaiste or Taoiseach since June 2020.

And every time he’s asked to anything other than build a data centre, he acts like he’s just been handed the job

Our market, our rules. Once, the UK had a say in those rules, but the UK voted to leave the EU. Decisions have consequences. This is one of those consequences. And while the EU lives rent free in Brexiters' heids, the EU doesn't actually GAF about the UK anymore, because we don't have to. Tant pis
Hard to know if this deserves a *Bwah hah hah hah* or a *sad trumpet*

You can feel the seething Europhobic rage. Good.

This is Brexit, my quitter chums. You have driven the UK car industry to its lowest level in modern times, not us.
