You're dead right. Just released my first ever game on Itch - all self made using Affinity Publisher & stock art. Ridiculously niche labour of love, and while I've had feedback and advice from players nobody else was involved in making it.

Since you asked...

Well if it cures the (for profit) trend for infant genital mutilation that might be the first remotely useful thing that arsehole has done, albeit for the wrong reasons.

Good morning. Here's Gareth Hunt demonstrating the dangers of trying to work whist nursing the mother of all hangovers.

I think my mum was very trope savvy too, which was an odd mismatch to the "is he a goodie or baddie" habit.

My mum within 5 minutes of starting any tv show or talkie:

“Is he a goodie or a baddie?”

Also my mum within two minutes of starting any detective show.

“It was him” - and she was ALWAYS right

There is a traditional interpretation of Genesis that suggests the small bone taken from Adam to create Eve was in fact a baculum rather than the euphemistic "rib" - explaining in an Aesop kind of way why men don't have one.

The US has this for at least ten years of things worsening until the average indolent head-in-the-sand citizen realises that letting things continue as they are is more scary than standing up and taking action. Then a conflict. Then, hopefully, change. It won't just happen by itself.

It helps to be able to spell the country you say only you are competent enough to run.
Goody-bag merch from Tory Conference branded "When Labour negotiates Britian loses" and signed "Kemi Badenoch".

Currently taking input on additional content from those who've already got it and those who just want to chime in - would you prefer:

* More example schools, staff and pupils?
* Variant settings (magic, military academy, fantasy, scifi)?
* Sample scenario starters or set-pieces?
* Other stuff

Want to innoculate a population against rhetoric and propaganda? Educate. Teach critical thinking. It's a pipe dream I fear. The playbook is to sway the masses with simple emotion driven slogans, and once the masses are behind you the weedy rational opposing voices are an impotent minority
finncullen.bsky.social
In the face of complex problems, most people will hungrily grab for any simple solution, no matter how unlikely, as long as it is presented passionately and often. Facts are irrelevant. More people respond to emotional appeal than to facts, so that's what the far right go for.

"The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity"

The vast majority of the population of any country will believe whatever they're told most often by the loudest voices. That's always been the case and probably always will be. And the people with one dimensional worldviews tend to be very loud and very on-message.

“There is one law for rich and poor alike, prohibiting both equally from stealing bread and sleeping under bridges”

As long as the wealthy make the laws they will make laws that do not impact them.

As long as the wealthy can pay for better representation, there is no justice.

When I was young, I seethed with rage & loathing for my ideological enemies. I lacked patience & compassion, refusing to countenance the possibility there might be any validity to their awful ideas. I dismissed them as ignorant, cruel, & worthless. Now, many years later, I am no longer young.

It’s autumn, and as more and more “self-care” shopping guides pop up, remember that self-care isn’t a fancy shower gel: it’s making yourself take a shower when all you want to do is hide in bed. It’s brushing your teeth, going to the dentist, getting exercise, drinking water, eating vegetables.
