This was only about two time-lapsed minutes of the Alex Pretti memorial ride in Minneapolis today. I'd guess there were at least 5x more people there than this, and probably significantly more than that. Absolutely mind blowing love and support showing up on bikes today.

Our cold toes won’t bring back Alex and Renée but all of standing together means they will never win. ICE Out Now!

This is Minneapolis.

So damn proud of this place. Easily the largest group bike ride I've ever seen of people showing up for the Pretti-Good Memorial Ride. Huge thanks to all those who did logistical work, marshalled, and showed up for justice.

Just moments ago the parkway was TAKEN OVER by winter cyclists. At first I thought hundreds, but they just kept coming. Thousands and thousands! I almost cried. I’m so dang proud of MN right now.

I ❤️ Minneapolis

This ride was incredible, especially our interactions with folks at the memorials and with neighbors cheering on from their windows/porches.

ICE out, now.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

My dear friend @megl.bsky.social won with a +91 margin. +91!

At her victory party, I showed her the ward breakdown on my phone.

Meg identified the ones where she got only 94% of the vote instead of 95% and she pledged to do more outreach.
Last night, in the wake of tragedy, Minnesota voters came together to end the Republican majority in the Minnesota House, electing Democrats Shelley Buck in District 47A and Meg Luger-Nikolai in District 64A.

The altnps account is the 13th most followed account on Bluesky and has more followers than every single news outlet other than the NYT, NPR and Meidas Touch on here. They actively spread misinformation and exploit gullible old people for cash. Accounts this unethical do not deserve to exist.
Completely insane. AltNPS claimed to know the name of Alex Pretti's killer, refused to say it because "the truth always comes out," and then just deleted the post.

A man was executed on the street in my hometown, and AltNPS is using that as an excuse to vaguepost for attention.

When one says "this is un-American," it's less history than a normative exhortation. You're saying "this violates the principles America claims to stand for, and should stand for in a just world."

It's not erasing the evils of slavery or Native genocide: it's calling the country to account.
People who say this are clearly speaking aspirationally about a shared American creed they hold dear. “Have you heard of the Trail of Tears?” is not a very helpful response, because they probably have and the priority right now is moral opposition to fascism and not fake-educating each other.
I fear my tipping point into madness is "Thus is un-American" posts in response to ICE terrorizing immigrants. I beg you to open Wikipedia (I would say a book but let's start small) and read up on The Trail of Tears, Fugitive Slave Catchers, Japanese internment, Indian Boarding schools & Jim Crow
