Sorry.
The Guardian have outdone themselves the past couple of days with a trio of articles by the same guy whinging, full on Twitter thread style, about how centrists have lost the web and need to reclaim it from the left and the right and it is *so* awful.

saw a post lamenting that they miss the old internet but you can still do that stuff! Lots of folks do! You can still use RSS feed readers, they're great! People make personal websites on places like Neocities! Also great! I post the ttrpg forum papercult.club and www.dosgameclub.com and have fun
FWIW this is what I use. It’s just a billion times better for making sure I see posts and articles on websites I follow than hoping I come across it in my social media feed, and the free tier is good enough for most people

My recent policy of “if the discourse starts with you and I look and there’s more than one shit tweet, you’re blocked” is going alright

Well. If you don’t know anybody who made a thing, obviously nobody made a thing. That’s how it works.

Popped a bunch more videogame related doodles up the old pipe AND not all of them involve mutilating Dizzy.

Saw this in micro 10yrs and a bit back in games where a lot of what we now take for granted as "well, that's just how things are when you're selling videogames" was being shaped by a handful of people who loosely co-ordinated (or in some cases, simply acquisced saying not my problem) for themselves.

By the end of tonight, I reckon Epstein might have been blamed for everything the rate things are going rather than the rather (I would hope) more obvious "there are a relative handful of people with power and they know how to consolidate it amongst themselves and who to bring in to their world"

Why would you even say “Go back and play Morrowind and tell me that’s the game you want to play again” to Morrowind fans.

Of course the answer is yes. That’s why they ask for it.

fucking hell, people you’d think know better posting utter shite to this website today makes me really wonder if they’ve always been like this and I just never noticed or they too have succumbed to brainworms over the machines.

I am so excruciatingly, existentially tired of the AI consciousness debates. If I run two chatbots from two terminals, redirect stdin and stdout to they communicate with each other instead of me, there’s nothing SOCIAL happening, that’s preposterous. You’re just indulging sophistry!

A small but deeply meaningful local project - digitising issues of 90s Scottish trans magazine The Tartan Skirt so all of us can access them.

It's a really modest fundraising target with a significant outcome, please share or contribute if you can!

Did get some enjoyment out of the RPS comments yesterday where some guy wades into the convo about how GOG and their weird ass AI nonsense giving it “I am a manager, I have stumbled into a weird den of anti-AI entirely unlike the real world, it is my job to empower my staff with the best tools”
