I'm beating the drum yet again, unfortunately. Electric is asking for us to pay off $250 more by the 15th, we're behind $400 on the rent, and if the government shutdown keeps up, we'll be even further behind since we can't rely on SNAP and SSI to help us keep afloat.

Everyone remembers the important point here (appreciate your artists) but everyone's burying the lede on why it was like this. In early game development, dev staff was forced to put their credits under aliases so that other companies couldn't snipe them away.

The problem is, when someone is predating upon you, trying to ascribe that humanity to them is the fastest way to just lay down and accept your fate as helpless prey with no better purpose than to power the food chain.

But all of them are human, with human thoughts, dreams, and ideas, just like all of us. Even those in elevated ruling positions - religious leaders, heads of state, elite wealth owners - who use "lesser" people as pawns have the capacity for love in their hearts, just clouded by their upbringing.
