happy 99th birthday to the opening of Providence Park. didn’t quite reach this claim of 100,000 seats, but its longevity is a testament to a lack of funds for replacements and begrudging acceptance 🙃

It’s funny, during mining strikes in Butte, he and his union brethren would open the mine and his own basement because they had a decent vein of near surface magnesium ore they’d mine, sell, & donate to the strike fund with. They would always get a few ounces of silver out of each load.

I walk between 25-30 miles per week around downtown Portland.

Offhand, I can think of only four buildings with plywood covering a broken window, all are larger commercial spaces which have been vacant since the pandemic.

Also commercial vacancies are only 26% vs the national avg of 20% per Moodys
