Cripes a’mighty people, Steven Miller is not staging a militarized ethnic cleansing and sending the border cops to murder people in the street to distract from the Epstein files. He’s doing it because he and Trump (and Vance and Homan and Noem etc) really really want to.

Asking the ICE agent beating a guy up on the pavement to hold still so I can scan his QR code that he was required to wear instead of a badge that can simply be read
I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.

ICE should be unmasked both physically and digitally.

AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

The past couple days have made it clear that arresting and prosecuting Johnathan Ross isn’t just the right thing to do, it is necessary to prevent future violence by ICE who have interpreted the situation as “we can do that to whoever we want”
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

I’m no lawyer, but very interested to hear if/how this would affect a court case.

Like, isn’t this evidence they are aware of the CP problem, but their solution effectively asks users to pay for the privilege?

To be clear, same name, but it’s not the voice actor for Doris the Ugly Stepsister in Shrek 2’s UK dub.

We can still discuss the latter on social media.

“This shadowy organization is competent enough to be far reaching and invisible, though not enough to have caused any harm.”

Forget ignorant, forget evil, believing this regime is just so very embarrassing.

Praying for these people’s safety. They give me hope for our country.
I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

If you like the psychedelic horror of House (1977) it’s worth checking out Lair of the White Worm.

It’s not 1:1, but the style overlaps in enough places to draw a comparison.
Ken Russell’s 1988 adaption of Bram Stoker’s Lair of the White Worm is far more entertaining, intriguing, layered… than the novel. And funnier. And less offensive!

Uneven cast using different approaches to the material, but young Amanda Donohoe, Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi make it all worthwhile.

My only issue with “Jan. 6 was ultimately successful" is the implication this is over.

It’s not, for better or worse, and we should still be working for better.

Why would I ever, EVER, support someone who says “well it won’t work so I won’t bother trying”.

That kind of fatalism is anathema to good leadership.

The bombing in Venezuela isn’t a “distraction”. He just commits a lot of crimes.

I do think this regime views Venezuela as a win, and was looking for one after the heat from the files, but he would have done this anyway. He’s been ramping up to it for months!

“Well… we can’t just keep filing impeachment articles all the time.”

Yes you can! If the man is committing impeachable offenses on the regular, you’re acquiescing to a standard that raises the bar for impeachable offense to absurd levels.
How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media?
Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.

Yes, this is exactly the time to demand Democrats "do something."

They can denounce Trump's actions as unconstitutional. They can state that he must be impeached and removed. They can make clear that all involved will be held accountable.

These are the core duties of a role they all signed up for.

"The left failed men because they give bad dating advice"

I have a hot take that maybe getting dating advice from the realm of politics is a bad idea to begin with.

It's not the job of people advocating for Universal Healthcare and a higher minimum wage to help you get laid. 🤷

From Doug Ford to Donald Trump, we see the endless pattern: conservatives cry government is broken and only a *businessman* can save it, elect a businessman who breaks the government further, then they sell it for parts and ensure it remains broken. Rinse, lather, repeat.
DOGE cut 7000 jobs at the Social Security Admin and closed 50 field offices, and now they’re struggling to respond to up to 6 million pending cases in its processing centers and 12 million transactions in its field offices.

Now they’ll say it’s broken and must be privatized.
