Not only is it a critical program in promoting food security/health, but it has an outstanding return on investment: for every $1 invested in SNAP, there is $1.54 in economic activity as people go to local grocers. www.cbpp.org/research/foo...

This is a pretty important point!
The correct way to connect the authoritarian presence in LA and the Big Beautiful Bill is that the bill gives the government the resources to do this in dozens of cities at once. So if you don't like what's happening in LA, it's coming to your town if the bill passes.

Another win!!! Now release him. A federal judge just ruled that the law used to detain Mr. Khalil is likely unconstitutional. Why? Because it’s too vague and was never meant to apply to someone like him a U.S. resident who never left the country.
