Chuck Schumer is a sex addict with a humiliation kink. Now he has to throw away a once-in-a-lifetime political advantage to get himself off.

What else will he ruin? Anything he can get his hands on.
Donald Trump’s approval rating has tanked and Republican suffered heavy losses in last week’s elections. There’s never been a better time for Senate Democrats to cave on the ACA extension.

I don’t think Democrats should reopen the government so long as Donald Trump is:

- Trying to starve millions of Americans
- Invading U.S. cities
- Disappearing people
- Taking a hatchet to public health
- Gutting environmental regulations
- Not funding foreign aid
- Committing war crimes

I've been following Matthew for a little while and I'm constantly impressed. He has great insights into everything influencing elections, from polls to media to messaging. Hope you will check him out, and maybe some of you can help out.
Some personal news: I have been financially supporting a family member in a mental health crisis which has spiraled into a financial disaster.

I would like to keep doing progressive activism but I can no longer pay rent for myself and my two kids.

Please help if you can. Thank you very much.

Please read. I'd like to move to a system where voting is required. It should be a crime to impede voting in any way.
I'm finally going to post, because I've seen some really naive takes on voter suppression in Texas and how it can't possibly have any kind of meaningful impact on voting. (You might wonder why Republicans bother!) Anyway, this is what a successful Dem get-out-the-vote effort looks like in Texas:
Former Democratic state House candidate among nine indicted for alleged vote harvesting in South Texas
The charges are the latest escalation in a probe that resulted in Texas authorities indicting six other Frio County area officials in May.

It's unconsciounable incompetence that there is nothing remotely similar on the left to TPUSA or to the Federalist Society. Meanwhile, the right wing has like 5 other organizations just like TPUSA.

We can copy Republican professionalism without copying their deceitfulness.

What doesn't seem right to me is that these ICE getaway cars still have all four wheels, and the tires are fully inflated. Also they seem to have gas in their tanks. It just doesn't seem right.

NEW — I'm suing DC Metro Police for the full body cam footage from the DOGE raid on the US Institute of Peace back in March.

The public deserves to know why MPD chose to sell out the people they’re tasked with protecting in order to bend to Trump's will. I'm repped pro bono by @rcfp.org.

The frogs will win!
What I'd love people to take from the Portland Frog (and the other inflatable costumes) is both that wearing an inflatable costume to a protest can create cool viral visuals AND that you need to just try shit.

Everyone involved in habitat restoration uses glyphosate. Everyone trying to reclaim ecosystems and eliminate invasive species uses glyphosate (carefully, and according to directions). It's the best solution currently available.
The problem is nobody likes uncertainty or complexity. I studied glyphosate/Roundup. Sometimes surfactants in Roundup have more side effects than the glyphosate itself but it's easier to study glyphosate. Effects of glyphosate in real systems are variable and complex, and alternatives..

"...effective messaging can shift public opinion and electoral outcomes..."

This should be tattooed on the forehead of every Dem politician and strategist. I'd make it "effective, consistent, and frequent messaging" because even when they stumble on an effective message they change it or drop it.
you'd think Democrats would realize that effective messaging can shift public opinion and electoral outcomes after watching Republicans wage relentless and super-effective propaganda warfare on the nation's dim electorate for going on five fucking decades
Weird. It’s almost like making accusations generates friction which generates news which rallies your supporters.
